Hi I was wondering if somebody could help ease my mind, I have been going out of my mind looking for answers :wall2: my husband and I had unprotected sex 8 and 5 days before my period was due. My periods are like clockwork and have been regular since I started at the age of 13. I was 6 days late for my period when I noticed very light brown discharge (but only when I wiped TMI so small that I didn't need to use a pad) I have also been experiencing cramps, mood swings, fatigue, headaches, nausea, increase of needing to pee, sore and tender breast (basically all of the symptoms of pregnancy!) I have taken 4 hpt's since I've missed my period and all have been neg. today I am 12 days late but the 'spotting' has become heavy and more red in colour. I am SO confused. Is this my period? Could I still be pregnant? and if so is this 'normal' any advice would be much appreciated xxxx

Sounds to me like it could have been implantation spotting, then your body rejected the pregnancy it is probably your period you are having now as red blood is fresh. I am not certain though as some people bleed and can be pregnant. I didn't want to read and run but I don't think you have been successful this month as I've had similar unfortunately. Fx for you x x

Thank u so much for your reply. When u say rejected do u mean miscarriage? Or is it quite normal for the body to reject pregnancy? I'm so new to all of this But I have learnt so much already from these forums :) xx

It's called a chemical pregnancy where the egg doesn't attach properly. The body is very clever and if it detects any chromosomal abnormalities or anything then 9 times out of 10 the fertilised egg would be rejected. This type of miscarriage is quite common and It won't cause any problems so you will still be able to continue ttc next month. I am not great at explaining things so I hope that makes sense. Will have everything crossed for you for next month x x

Thank u so much! U have totally eased my worries :) xxx
