Just a quick question.......

I remember an internal at 5cm being fairly "interesting". when I was fully dilated I thought that they were just using fingers but no, o/h has reliably informed me since that the Mw was, in fact, elbow-deep :oooo:

The midwife even had her hand inside me when I was pushing as well, to see if the baby was moving down!

Me too :(

I had a midwife put her entire hand and possibly some arm up there while telling me to push when I was actually only 5cms (she was a stupid idiot who had no clue what he was doing)

Believe me they do put more than fingers up there! But to be honest I didn't feel like it the first examination I had after my waters broke to check if I was dilating was done with a metal Thingy (don't know what it's called) and I was only 1cm and thy hurt like hell!

Me Dosent like it :( that will hurt so much :( stay away from my foofoo :(

I don't actually remember it hurting me massively.

It was a tad uncomfortable but not excruciating or anything like that.

It wasn't??? I feel uncomfortable if my oh puts 2 fingers in there When I am not fully arroused
I can't even imagine the pain of a whole hand in there :(
Maybe I discuss the elective c section option with my gynecologist next month lol :p

its different in labour cos it all starts to open and stretch :s...lol x

The only one that hurt me was when I wasn't in labour and they used this huge metal thing! After that it's just not pleasant but it doesn't hurt your too busy focusing on getting through contractions to be bothered I think!

OH LOVELY!!!!!

I thought it was just fingers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

You know, ive always wondered this! I must have conpletely zoned out during internals cos I have no recollection of it!

And yet I read on! Must admit this part terrifies me :( moreso than having to push baby out lol! Xxxx

oh trust me...its nothing to worry about if you are comparing it to the pushing bit...lol..the baby is slightly bigger than a hand...lol :D xx

Just remember girlies, you'll want them to check because you'll want to know how much longer you will be in pain for

I looked forward to the internals for this reason alone. Infact, when I was about 8cm I begged them to do one because I thought I needed to push lol

They only examined me once and it did hurt (I was 2 cm), but have no idea if it was just fingers, I couldn't see and OH would probably rather die than look.

My internals didn't really hurt tbh and I was worried that they would as I find smears etc pretty uncomfortable, the key is to try to relax as much as possible x

It was just fingers for me until the.consultant ran in and shoved a bit more than a hand up there as she wanted to see if she would be able to turn my lo.

Can't say i found them uncomfortable but that last one had my running up the bed! OH said she did it and just wanted to smack her because he could see instantly that it hurt and how much was actually up there! You're foof gets massive though so a hand easily gets up there :)

yep..lol

no it goes back to normal up inside...although the actual entrance will never look the same again apparently

I was in too much pain to think about the actuall internal so it may not be all that bad, the first one I got tho was just rather uncomfy :-/ xx
