January 2017 mummies! **2nd Trimester.**

Have you tried/seen the 100% cotton liners Lisa? I tried some when I was last on my period (feels like an age ago!!) and they were really good, barely noticed it was there.. I hate the plasticy ones with a passion.. They do a few brands in Boots xx

Yeah the breathable ones don't have any plastic in, they are good. You can also get washable cotton ones in some health stores and online but that might seem a bit yucky!

This reminded me that one of my friends was complaining about periods the other day and I had to take a moment to appreciate how great it is not having them anymore...really hoping they stay away for a while postpartum this time, last time it was 6 weeks before it returned, despite breastfeeding

I'm hoping to be like my best friend, she has an 18 month old and no sign of a period thanks for BF! xxxx

I've got a fairly consistent 'twinge' tonight just above my pelvic bone in the middle ... Is this baby having a dacbe or stretching or something to worry about do you think ? Xxx

Yes its so great not having them! No PMS either!

hi all. sorry for being quiet lately. I haven't been feeling great. I have absolutely no energy and been feeling really fed up. I'm also huge, my bump is so big, I get mistaken for being 30+ weeks. It's really uncofmrtable too, I feel like it's weighing me down and I get breathless from just standing up. I have also been feeling really strong kicks. It honestly feels like I'm nearly due. I have been reading updates from you all. My 20 weeks scan is on Thursday. x

Hi ladies

just catching up!! so excited for those starting to feel your little beans I had the first kick I could feel with my hand Saturday night... grabbed other halfs hand like a mad woman... waking him up... only for it to completely stop moving LOL I have an anterior placenta too and I'm so desperate for OH to feel it.

Laura - totally not unreasonable! I mean what if you have to have a c? that's 6 weeks your out... I have already agreed family only for 2 weeks and I mean immediate and then extended and friends - its too much otherwise let along having 2 and using public transport.. I'm sure he is excited and just rose tinted but do speak to him again, let him know how you want to settle down and get a routine first before taking them out I'm sure he will come round xxx

Princess I am with you! 21 + 3 and I am massive.. I can't sleep very well I feel like a beached whale, my stomach is so tight I can't eat very much as it makes it worse but I'm starving and my feet have started to ache.. people think I am going on MAT leave in a couple of weeks when I see people at work... yeah in DECEMBER!! I'm frightened how much bigger I can get with out my stomach actually physically bursting!! LOL

LOL! I know how you ladies feel! It feels like my stomach is so huge! I'm like and it's gonna get bigger than this. I tried to bend down to pick something up from the floor today and I had to spread my legs and do a kind of squat because my belly is too big for me to bend down like normal. And I feel it in my back too, and I've never had back problems before. But baby is having a ball kicking and moving in there. :) Also when I sneeze, he moves. :) I think I'll be able to feel his kicks from the outside if I have my hand there at the moment he kicks, they are strong kicks now. :) My breasts have gotten bigger again too I'm gonna have to get some new bras. Also at work in a meeting today, the supervisor started playing some music to relax us, and the speaker was on the table right in front of where I was sitting, and when the music started plying baby started moving. :) He heard the music. Also I was trying to play a game at work today where you toss these little bean bags about the size of a baseball into a hole, didn't seem like too much but after a couple of minutes my back was killing me, I had to sit down. LOL What am I going to be like when I'm 8 months pregnant LOL. :) Also walking into the ladies room I caught a glimpse of myself in the full length mirror walking in and oh my goodness I'm starting to get that pregnant walk hahaha! :D

Oh wow Papermoon that's fantastic with baby hearing the music! Must have been truly magical.

Thanks for the tip about cotton panty liners ladies, I'll check it. Now that I think of it, I believe the brand I use for pads make panty liners too.
And I totally agree with hoping it keeps away. A friend of mine is dying to get it back though. She wants to start trying for the next one, but doesn't want to give up breastfeeding completely yet.

I'm getting soo many negative breastfeeding stories recently! It seems like everyone I meet says they weren't able to for one reason or another, or it was just so difficult. Not that I have ANY issue with anyone not doing it, but I was so hoping to be able to, and that it wouldn't be so bad once I got the hang of it. Anyone got any positive stories?

I'm a bit late on the bump bandwagon, but here's a bump picture from today..

Lovely bump!!

Both my best friend and her sister in law had babies last year and breast fed from the word go. Never had an issue other than the first couple of weeks being sore etc but they both say it's worth it. I will be seriously trying with it as I'm desperate too BF

Xxx

Has anyone had chest cramp?? I've had pretty painful pain running down my collar bone and into my breast bone for the last couple of hours. It feels like a sharp, knife-like pain and hurts more when I inhale. Normal?

Ahh lovely Laura :) I am unfortunately one of those with a negative story (didn't work out, ended up bottle feeding, I was totally gutted..) but it hasn't put me off and i'll be trying again this time. I'd recommend going to support groups/classes to help with latch as that is the key to successful, pain-free breastfeeding.. Desperate for it to work this time round..

I get that chest thing all the time pregnant or not! Haven't quite figured out what it is but I assume trapped wind in the chest? Would make sense i'm getting it more in pregnancy as i've been so gassy!

Yes Lisa mine are little slim liners.. I think the brand was Veda? Deffo got them in Boots :)

Hope it works out for you this time! I am hoping that as my boobs are usually completely unsensitive (a little more now preg), I won't suffer too much bf pain! My mum fed the three of us up to 6 months, so I'm hoping that she can give me her wisdom.

Thank goodness, thanks, my OH was getting all nervous and wanting to call midwife but I said he was overreacting.

I didn't really have any problems with breastfeeding and my LO is almost 2 and still feeding now (I say feeding, my milk dried up about 6 weeks ago but I'm sat here with her falling asleep at the boob as I type) There's a really fantastic Facebook group called UK Breastfeeding and Parenting Support full of really lovely and knowledgeable ladies who have helped loads of people who might otherwise not have been able to breastfeed. I've learnt so much from it, highly recommend joining.

Wow Laura, what a bump! It's gorgeous!!

I keep buying maternity dresses but there's still nothing to show off yet - come on baby! With your first everyone, did you just wake up one day and realise you'd suddenly popped?!

I've had this and loads of other chest symptoms - I get palpitations every couple of days and my chest feels tight sometimes...writing it here, I realise I should possibly get it checked out..hmm, but I think they're relatively common things?!

I also get palpitations and get very, very out of breath very easily! I'm hoping it's all normal, I've not read too much into it! I know shortness of breath is really normal..

Oh Laura that's such a beautiful bump.

I know lots of people in Sweden who's been breastfeeding without a hitch, including my sister with both hers. It's much less of an issue there, I think it's more common so perhaps easier for people to get support from family and friends.
