Hi peeps!

I am sick fed up of people saying to me when they see Mhairi "Ohh she's tiny" "Was she premature?" "Oh she's sooo little!"

I got so fed up of it that I took her to clinic today to get her weighed and measured. She's just between the 25th and 50th centile and has sort of been since birth.

The HV told me to tell everyone she's fine!

Anyone got any witty retorts I can use to passing members of the public?

i used to and still get the other end gosh isnt he big u must be feeding him so much

yeh same here. this lass yesterday told me that alex is the same size as her 11 month old daughter.

I always get people telling me how big Ryan is, but he's just below the 50th line, so he really isn't. I just play up to it though, can't be bothered to tell them otherwise

People just like to comment! Austin's just below the 9th centile so quite diddy but people are always commenting how big he is! I usually just nod along.

Maddison was between 0.4th and 2nd centile for ages but is now on 9th centile She is always going to be on the small side but when people comment I just say 'I'm hardly 6ft am I?' (I'm only 5ft tall)

I only ever say to other people "Aww s/he's gourgeous!" when commenting on their children!

My seed is on like the 98th centile but this basically only means that 2 % of babies that are weighed are likely to be heavier and 98% lighter..its nothing about health tbh...people come in all shapes and sizes

thats exactly what my hannah is.. that why everyone thinks shes about 18 months old now.

True Midna....i'm beginning to think this centile stuff is like fundal height...a load of absolute rubbish!

I get this too and wish people would shut up! Imogens over 6 months old now and has always stayed on the 9th centile perfectly and HV said shes 'well covered' (v.chubby thighs!) and shes just dainty.

She was 14lb 3oz on wednesday gone so i was pleased.

Yeah I get it too. Aimee is tiny and Nathans massive and people always think there are twins. I get people coming up to nathan in his pram asking him what his name is and waiting for him to reply

Ryans on the 2nd centile, he's never been chubby and people sometimes say that he's small for his age. They must think I don't feed him or something

aww sorry ladies- i didnt realise this bothered people! altho i wouldnt dream of asking if a baby was prem or if theyre overfed, i am guilty of saying "ooh, isnt he/she tiny?!" im just fascinated by how tiny a real live person can actually be and i think it adds to a babys cuteness! i think chubbiness is cute on babies too, but iv never commented on how big a baby is, because all babies become big anyway so its not as unusual as when i see really little ones!

people always comment on how long melissa is, and how big her eyes are, and as neither of these bothers me, i guess i just dont think when i make comments myself! ill stop it now
