Is anyone worried about Labour??

Just wanted to echo what the other girls said about tears, I can't speak for everyone but my experience of tearing was fine, I had a 2nd degree tear and didn't feel a thing, I was honestly surprised I'd torn when they told me I needed stitches! Even the stitches were fine they did it under a local and I could have had gas n air if I wanted. Afterwards I could wee fine and it healed great no pain. At my antenatal class they said your body is designed for labour so tears are part of that sometimes, your skin in that area gets stretched so tight as baby is coming out that it is naturally numbed so u don't feel it if it tears

As for pooing I was actually trying to poo I thought it might relieve the urge to push!!!! So when in labour u honestly don't care about pooing urself, it feels normal!! Lol prob only time in ur life that will ever apply :)

I just re-read your birth story Bunnykins, so glad I've dedicated my time to natal hypnotherapy after reading how cool you were in your birth  if my birth story is half as nice as yours I'll be chuffed :)

I'm good with the whole labour thing :D just terrified if I have to have stitches down there! Don't like injections and don't like the idea of them giving me a numbing injection for stitches! Isn't that daft that thats the bit that I'm scared of! Funnily enough thats why I dont want an epidural, scared of the local anaesthestic injections! lol

I must admit, I've had stitches down there before as part of an operation, and they didn't bother me in the slightest. I wore a sanitary towel with a few drops of tea tree oil on it and the stitches were fine. I even had to get a plane with them in and they still didn't play up :) x

Thats ok then, the actual stitches im not too bothered about, its the injections before hand which is why i feel a bit silly about it. Im like that with injections anyways, had to really grin and bear it with my anti-D and steroids. Sounds daft but I even avoid the dentists as I cant stand the idea of injections in my mouth, and down there is another place I would rather not have one! Guess I'll just have to shut up and put up, or do you think they would let me try with just gas and air? Would rather have the pain, sounds silly I know but its just a weird thing I have with needles :(

Everyone's so calm... I'm absolutely terrified! I keep telling him he's all snuggly where he is, although have been told by family that closer to the end you're just desperate to meet them you don't actually care about the labour, you just want them with you safely to cuddle. I really hope this is true!

They do let people have g&a with stitches so you could probs do it that way :)

Oooh goody! May try that first then :D yay!
Feeling positive about labour tho which is good, hoping I stay that way when the time comes!
