Is it pelvic girdle pain?

Right up my groin (knicker line) I have a lot of pain. Its almost like I have been at gym working on my inner thighs and overdone it. Thighs themselves are ok though, just right up in my groin.

Does that sound like pgp? I just woke up with it this morning. Sitting down isnt too bad but I stand up and take that first step and my pelvis takes the weight OUCH OUCH OUCH.

I already sleep with a pillow between my legs but opening my legs wide doesn't cause me any more pain.

Ooooh or is it baby engaging? Freya never engaged till labour so not sure what that feels like x

Hmm. I can't say I've had this Lynds, not that I remember anyway - and remember how bad my SPD was last time. Could be more to do with baby's position or even just aching muscles xx

Yeah I read with SPD that opening legs and stairs cause pain but that isnt the case for me which is whats making me wonder

Just hope it sods off soon!

I've had this last few days, has eased off a little! I just put it down to pelvis getting used to increased size! I am fast becoming a fatty lol x

I've had this too it's horrible feels like a massive weight between your legs? I've had it for a good few weeks now and baby hasn't been engaged at any point so I've been wondering what it was. It also makes my left left go numb every now and then esp when I walk. Xx

Had quite an uncomfortable night but doesnt seem quite so bad this morning. Hoping it completely bogs off now.

Wishing I had done yoga through this pregnancy, it maybe helped me more than I thought last time! X

I've had it for months now and def gets worse when you overdo it. It's ether PGP or Round Ligament pain - either way it's normal and gets more comfortable if you relax, don't overdo it and have a nice warm bath or hot water bottle x

I get this, feels like I've been kicked in the groin. Comes on in the evening, though sometimes there in the day, get it when I've overdone it. Mainly goes but it morning by sometimes lingers. So far I'm just tolerating it.

I'm being distracted at the mo by a bite I got right on the top of lady garden that's itching like mad! Had to get OH to check what it was for me as haven't seen done there in a while!

Ive had this on and off for a few weeks now. Saw a physio as diagnosed with pelvic girdle. I was just given an advice leaflet and a support belt which isnt the easiest thing to wear as you cant wear it sitting down or driving etc. I have found mine eases if i rest a bit. if i walk alot, drive, push trolley or my 2 year old im in agony so i tend to have lazy days. My legs dont hurt to open either nor going upstairs. Its turning over in bed, sitting at certain angles, going downstairs, getting out of bed and initial movement from sitting/lying down. I can only describe it as a heavy pain and similar to being saddle sore.

Use it as a reason for lazy days :)

I had severe SPD & Sacroliac joint dysfunction during my pregnancy. The SPD pain was on the inside of my hips near to where you leg joins your "nunny"
My SJD was in my left hip on the outside and in my tail bone/lower back where it joins the top of your pelvis..

Parting legs was very painful, rolling over in bed would be enough to make me scream out in pain, I often got stuck even with a pillow between my knees. Getting out of a car was also very painful. Even pushing a trolly in the supermarket! Anything that made your legs part or pelvis twist/tilt/move was just agony.

If you have any of this then speak to your MW ASAP and ask for a physio referral.
I mean, my cases were severe so unsure what a "milder" case would feel like.

In my opinion it doesn't sound like PGP as parting your legs doesn't hurt, it could just be ligament pain as baby is getting heavier and you're getting closer to your due date, but I'm no health professional, so could be wrong.

The physiotherapist I saw signed me off exercise after 4/5 visits as exercise was leaving me in agony.
I was then consultant lead and had to be induced at 37+6 and monitored intensly during the birth for my pain free gap.

Unfortunately my son is now 4 weeks old on Wednesday and I'm still suffering. Been advised if I'm still in pain after 8 weeks then to see my GP. Will mention it at my 6 week Postnatal check up.
