Hey ladies,
Just thought I'd let the rest of you that don't already know that I had my baby!
We changed her name at the very last minute to Daisy-Star Parker.
I was due on 7th December but my hind waters broke on the 19th November at 11am, I rang the midwife and she told me to plod on as normal. So I was doing some shopping, I felt perfectly fine. I'd been wearing a pad that was dry until I checked it at 1pm... I thought it must be the rest of my hind waters dripping so I ignored it. Come 2pm, I started getting contractions in Argos haha! :')
I got to my mother's at about 3pm and rang the midwife again and she told me to go up to the birth centre, on arrival they checked my pad and they were worried... It looked like there was poo on my pad but it wasn't mine... It was baby's. Due to this worry they examined me internally, they said baby was very low down and they can feel her head. A couple of hours later they sent me to the antenatal ward just to get monitored, she was perfectly fine but the contractions were becoming more frequent, I then had to wait for doctors. When the doctor arrived I was expecting her to say "You're okay to go home" but no... The words that came out of her mouth scared the crap out of me... "We're going to intervene with your pregnancy and we're inducing you tonight" I started crying because I was TERRIFIED.
My partner got to the hospital after his shift at work and stayed with me all night whilst I was rolling around a hospital bed in agony!
The next day Wednesday 20th November 13:30pm the doctor broke my waters, again this was so uncomfortable I needed G&A!!
I began slow labour at about 4pm and it got to established at around 8pm... Induction is painful as sin but I think I did rather well.
I had paracetamol and codeine, gas and air also morphine injection. Not too bad considering I'm a wimp.
I had a hard time getting her out as I'd only had 1hr's sleep in 2 days so I was exhausted I was screaming at the midwife "get her out, please get her out" feel like a bit of a tit now.
I tried playing it out on the bed... That was painful.
I tried the birthing ball... Comforting until you get a contraction.
I tried the birthing stool... It's like a toilet but my god it's uncomfortable on your back, bum and legs! I don't recommend it first time ladies.
A few hours pass, it's 01:41am Thursday November 21st and Daisy-Star Parker was born, after a total of 12 hours 11 minutes labour and awful pain she was totally worth every push and strain.
I've no stretch marks at all, I ended up with a few cuts and a first degree tear also a badly bloodshot eye. :')
Daisy-Star Parker.
Born Thursday November 21st at 01:41am.
Weighing 5lb 4oz - Good weight considering she was 3 weeks early.
Blue eyes.
Blonde/brown hair.
