How to use opks

Hi

It's been a while since I've used and opk to detect ovulation, so I've forgotten the basics!

I've just got some cheap Internet strip tests, which I used before but have since forgotten how to use them!

Do I do it with fmu like you would a pregnancy test, or smu, or at a specific time of day?! Lol

As I'm not sure when I'll ovulate I've decided to start testing on CD 10 til CD 20...hopefully I should see a positive in that time frame

So yeah, I've forgotten everything and need your wisdom plz?!

I do mine at around 2pm and try not to go for a wee from around 10am, I find it impossible to wee on those tiny flimsy sticks so I use something like a disposable cup or little pot and dip the stick in, I’ve read it’s better to do them in the afternoon rather than fmu

I thought i recalled something about not using fmu, but couldnt be sure. I also recall doing more than the one test as the surge can be so quick. But i'll just try to stick to the one test. I often feel when i'm ovulating so the test are purely to back that up

According to this website, between 2-2.30pm is optimum time and to reduce your fluid intake for 4 hours beforehand like Night Owl does... this may prove harder than I thought when I’m in work trying to test and trying to resist my glass of water.

Sjf, I'm doing OK physically. Had a little moment today where I had a few tears, which took me by surprise. But I'm focusing on this cycle

They say mid afternoon is best but that’s a bit inconvenient for me as I don’t fancy doing them whilst I’m in work so I’m going to do mine around 4.30-5ish when I get home from work and see how I get on. I’m also monitoring CM to see if that helps because last month I missed my ovulation window, even though I did end up pregnant...

They say at 2pm, but i think for most woman, thats just not convenient, so i never bothered.

Because of my busy evenings and the time my oh would be back from work, i would test at 8pm. One evening it was pretty positive, so we dtd and the next day i tested again at 8pm and it was bang on positive, so we dtd and that did the job

I found that like lunch time I get a better result with opks but then I know others who are better with fmu to be fair to found that out I took like 3 in the day for a few days and that's when I got my best lines but I still don't get positives. Checking cm you can do it when you wipe after going the loo or just from what you see if your knickers you don't have to handle it if you don't want to but it's a good sign for ovulation

Its more just a case of looking out for it.

Before ttc i never bat an eye lid or ever really noticed it, but since we started trying i really noticed all the little signs. So when i am close to ovulating i get ewcm, which is like a stretchy slimy type of cm. I would get some in my underwear and when i wiped, so i know it was time to start

I never bothered with temping.

It wouldn't really be a problem for me testing at work tbh - so i will try at 2pm once AF has gone and also in the evenings once i have got home from work.
I am going to be a going forward - i really am hoping to be pregnant by Christmas. x

Yea get peeing on that stick. I have my fingers crossed for you hun I hope it's this month or October as catching in September will give me a June baby and I already have 7 birthdays in June

Well I'm a twin lol so I have my brother in law on the second me and my.twin on the 3rd then the 11th is my mum the 19th is my other half and his sister ( not twins they are 6 years apart ) then I have my grandad on the 23rd and my cousin the 26th I think is his birthday that's the one I always forget. So any more birthdays in June I think I'll go insane because it's already stressful enough lol
