I really like this name but I am unsure how the majority of people would pronounce it. Any other information on the name would be good as well - any positive/ negatives that you can think of. Thanks

I would pronounce it Eh-leese , but Ive been looking up Elise and there are a lot of different opinions . How would you pronounce it?

Thanks for replying. I'm not sure, I started off thinking it was EE-lise but I noticed that some people say Eh-lise or Uh-lise. There seem to be a few different ways and I just wondered which was the most common/ likely way. I like most of the ways I've heard though but if I do call my baby this I don't want to spend years correcting people on the way to say it if I go with a less common way of pronouncing it.

Ell-eese is how I would say it......

E-lise.
My friend has a wee girl eith this name. It's lovely. Xx

Haha I had this exact same thread not that long ago. Its a beautiful name x

Definitely Eh-leese :) Although I do get all kinds of pronunciations, that's how it should be said xx

Sorry I didn't notice the other thread Lynds77 - what conclusion did you come to with how to pronounce it?

Leesey - are you glad you're called Elise? Have you had a lot if problems with the pronunciation of your name? Is there anything else I should think about eg strange nicknames or people mistaking your name for something else?! Thanks

Always pronunciation problems like over the phone and stuff but I love my name! It bugs me when I get called Elsie though!! Xx

I have never heard it pronounced any way other than Eh-lease!

I get eh-leeze and eh-liss and now moreso because DD's name is Alyssa, I get eh-leese-ah quite a lot. But they are mistaken pronunciations rather than alternative ways to say it xx
