Welsh names

Hey didnt know there were so many welshies about .... We are the Hughes family! DH is called Rhys Daffydd which I love but living in Yorkshire people always assume its Reece which drives us mad!!!!! My son is Taylan which isnt strictly Welsh but is a derivative of Tay which is an old welsh form of David. We are having a girl this time and are currently torn between Seren Elspeth Hughes and Ffion Elizabeth Hughes.

I loved Dewi or Tomos for a boy, maybe next time eh!!

xx

Well I dont live in Wales anymore but used to live near Caerphilly and only knew one person called Seren, which does mean Star, and that was actually her middle name so dont think it was that common but you never know. I moved away 4 years ago and naming trends change dont they! Always paranoid about giving my kids 'common' names as I grew with about 30 other Laura's in my year at school!! I suppose if we decide to stay in England it definately wont be common up here! xx
