How long did it take you to plan your wedding?

Our wedding was planned in about a week, the week before the wedding.. the only thing we had planned beforehand was the date.. that was set about 6 months before but only as we had family that needed to get fligh tickets.. we changed venues about 5 days before we were due to get married and then had to change everything else. The place was outdoors and was completely decorated with gorgeous cream rose centerpieces, all chairs covered, huge sparkler firwork things.. 7 tier cake, soft drinks were free and they also decorated our wedding car for us. The whole wedding including registrar coming out to the venue, transporting family back and forth between the resorts to us etc came to less than £2000.. Thats including my dress and his suit aswell ...It was an amazing wedding and i was amazed how little it cost in the end... oh and as tradition over here everyone pins money to a red sash you have at the wedding instead of presents and we made quite alot from that so the wedding probably end up costing us nothing lol

We had been engaged for 7yrs! Last April dh suggested we get married and we booked it for last sept!

Very lucky to have help from family n friends my mum paid for cake n flowers, my dad for my dress and our rings, mil for girls bridesmaids stuff and my sis paid for a few days away afterwards

Cost us £120 all in for reg office, we only had 13 at ceremony, meal afterwards (each person paid for their own)

Then we paid £500 for evening reception which included room/dj/buffet for upto 70 people (we dont know that many!) plus a room and full brekkie for us!

And we got married on a thursday cos it was cheaper! xx

Forgot to add my eldest daughters dad!!! Did our photos for us for free and then put together the most beautiful wedding album too

i booked mine yesterday cyprus sept 2012
for 2 weeks in a 5 star hotel all inclusive with the wedding, flowers and cake its cost £4,500. jsut gotta buy dress and outfits so i'd say £5200 in total

Congrats Hun, I got married six years ago and went all out including our own castle !! It cost in all £22,000 which is a stupid amount of money but I wouldn't change a thing.
It took me 18months to plan and I loved every minute of it xxx

It's amazing all the different styles of weddings you can have!
We had 2 years to plan, and I loved every minute of it - spent an obscene amount of money but we had the time of our lives and the honeymoon of our dreams, so totally worth it in our opinion
Will be married 5years in Jan !!!!!!

We did the basic bits 12 months before (venues, registrar etc) and pretty much everything else has been done since February. We have around 80 days left until we get married now.
