Thinking of February next year but need a rough idea to see if it's realistic or not! lol and what budget we need (Thinking £4000 max) x

just under 2 years but didnt really do to much the 1st year

Congratulations first of all on planning wedding. :-) February next year is not a problem. We booked ours in November 2007 and were married 9 months later in August 2008. We had 39 at the service, including DH and me :-) Can't really advise on budget as we were really fortunate to have help from my parents. :-)

Hope all works out for you and good luck with all your preparations. xxx

8 weeks lol, had a church, reception, string quartet, Evening buffet, DJ, the lot and we ended up spending about £5000

Fab day, though I wish I hadn't got so drunk so I could remember more of it

 wish bloody Dartford registry office didnt have a 5 day backlog for me to find out the date I want

We got engaged at Christmas and will be married in June. I had a £4k budget.

I think thats very do-able! We done ours in 18 months but after booking everything and putting deposits down there was a lot of waiting around for a good few months.

Your wedding will be cheaper if you don't go for the usual saturday. Friday is popular but still cheaper. I know of someone who got married on a Sunday. It's worth considering!

mine including honeymoon was 15k im still in  at the price the wedding breakfast was £45 per person

Gonna sound like a right cheapskate here lol but we're thinking of getting married around 3pm infront of just family and a couple of close friends then will probably go and double check reception venue and just have the cake, buffet and a dj and a bar x x x

i dont blame you hun it was the food that cost us the most and the honeymoon but the honeymoon was soooooooooooo worth the 3k lol

That sounds good Hun. My hubbys friends wedding was about 2k. He had a registry office, he had a family meal in a pub (he got everyone to buy their own) and then an evening disco in a social club with a buffet.

I just think £50 a head for a sit down meal is ridiculous when you have 100+ guests. Plus half of it won't get eaten or people won't like their meal and it will just get pushed around their plate x

Wow cant believe how cheaply you can do it!! It cost me 5k just for the venue hire and legal bits!! Lol!!
Need to move up north I think!! Lol!
We got enganged 4 years before getting married but booked it all about 18 months before the wedding and was planning pretty much from then!! Mind you we booked stuff up just after we booked the wedding but then didnt do an awful lot until 6 months before!
xxxxx

it is ridiculous it was lush food and drink though for that each person got a starter a main and desert plus champagne on arrival and 2 glasses of wine with the meal with coffee afterwards too for people who wanted it, we only had a sit down meal as we had my family coming from far and they was all paying to stay over ect so i had to feed them haha i dont regret spending that much but i do think they add extra on because they can which is silly there isnt much competition here tbh so they charge what they want my photographer was £1500

I'm only in Kent lol

Oh yeah!! Feeling like my geography a level really worked!! Lol!!
Good luck with the wedding hun, maybe to save some money see if friends and family will make or do things to save money. My bro and his band played at our wedding as a wedding present and im doing a friends make up at hers as a present!!
xxxx

lol, OH isn't even anywhere near considering a proposal but I have a notebook filled with names of F&F who could do things for us, hopefully at a preferential rate ;)

:yay: It's just £700 to use the registry office down here, then at least £800 for a photographer

We're getting married in our church but rev. is waiving the church fees and hall hire fees so we only have to pay the diocese fees. Then our friend is a photographer so she's doing our photos for free, another friend is doing the bridal party and buttonhole flowers for a present and yet another friend is doing my cake for a present :) then my sister is doing all the buffet food for me!

We're getting married at 12pm and having the reception straight after in the hall until 6 and then live music until 7-no formal meal or anything.
