How are all you new mummies doing?

I'm glad to hear that.

Honestly sometimes I feel these appointments do me more stress than good. When she was 3 weeks she was always unsatisfied with 3oz bottles and would easily do more so we upped to 4oz and the hv was like you should stick to 3 and more often like we were doing bad!!! But that meant she would cry after her bottle as she wasn't satisfied. I think us mums have to go with our instincts. Surely she wouldn't sleep through if she didn't need to.

It may be fluke so I'll see tonight haha x

Like was on 5 oz at 6. Weeks! I say just if with your feeling, you know your baby better than hey do after all!!

Just back from Bounce & Rhyme and after about 15 mins Hayley started crying and wouldn't settle at all for the rest of the class. So really was not worth me walking 2.5 miles for! But least she got some fresh air

Hopefully she's less tired next time and will enjoy it and get ot join in properly

I've tried a few 5oz but she doesn't ever drink it all so it's a waste really lol x

I've learnt to smile and nod at my HV and just ignore what she says. She talks absolute rubbish. You know your baby, they only see them a few times for a very short period of time.

It's easy for them to say just give 3oz more often, but not when you've got a screaming baby thats still hungry to deal with lol

Thanks for the bedtime routine info. Good to hear what everyone is doing, doesn't sound that unusual that she isn't ready to go to bed early yet then. I have bought her a graco sweetpeace swing thing today, hubby picking it up tonight so hoping she will like it!! X

JoJo Luke looks adorable! That roll thing does look good, I'm always trying to prop her up on thre padded edge of her playmat. X

Tt254, I know its so confusing. I have tried waking Summer for a feed and it doesn't work anyway as she is sleepy and doesn't take it properly. I do think unless they are really little then surely they would wake if they wanted it.

Luke keeps trying to climb over the roll like he's an at soldier but ends up tipping over onto his face then giggling lol

Your hv knows nothing about your baby - they just go from policies and procedures. I won't be going to see mine very much apart from a weigh on at clinic once In a while

Liked bedtime routine is (and has been from 8 weeks) 6:30-7:00 bath followed by a bottle then in his cot dor a bedtime story and then bed. He were doing midnight dream feeds but we cut it out and he started to sleep rough at about 12 weeks 8-8 although now he's in a regression and is doing 8-6

I just left Macie on the settee For 1 min whilst I took the shopping in the kitchen n I came back and she had rolled over!! Won't be doing that again!! Lol we were out n she had a massive poo explosion when I was feeding her n it went all over her and my dress! Oh the joys lol xxxx

Woo for rolling over!

Weighed Thomas today. He's now 14lb 9oz and tracking the 25th centile. So happy that he's made some progress I don't need to go over 2 weeks now can change back to once a month

I feel like Emma's doubled in size in the last month, need to remember to get her weighed next week.

I know what you mean, Thomas is nothing like he was 2 months ago. I can hardly remember him as a newborn now

It was a bit of a fluke cus of how the settee is she can't do it on her mat yet but won't be long! Xxx

Hi girls, haven't been on PF much recently. As some of you know Ben was born 6 weeks early, we nearly lost him and he ended up needing 3 blood transfusions and a white platelet transfusion. Anyway he is 4 weeks old today and is doing brilliantly. He is so content, never cries and drinks 4oz every 4 hours. He was weighed today and considering he was born 5lb 15.5oz, today he weighs 7lb 12.5oz so is putting on weight nicely.

It's been a rollercoaster journey and I'm still getting my head around it. Mw is still keeping an eye on me for now as she was worried I was showing signs of Pnd but I'm ok really just having the odd off day.

Looking forward to catching up with you all. Here is my little angel xxx

Oh Hun I didn't know that!! God it's not even your duedate yet! I'm so glad he's doing well... He doesn't even look like a prem! Strapping lad he looks!

I can't even immagine whst you went through but look at him now!!

Bectime question... Do you think bath/bottle/bed at 6 is too early? It's taking an hour to settle him and he's fighting it - I think he's overtired.

Omg Jojo, not another fall!

I'm def gonna get one of those roll things. Did you buy the mat too? We've got wooden floors. I've been putting a thick blanket down, but it always ends up bunched up in the corner. Need to buy a proper mat.

Oh and re my fall... I'm so bloody accident prone!! Remember when I fell at 30 weeks and ended up on crutches??

On the toy I also found it's handy as a pillow fir his head :) he spent over 2 hours on it over the day! That from a little dude who round scream after 2 mins in the floor? Amazing!!

Glad to see you back Daley. Sounds like Ben is doing great now. When Emma was 4 weeks old she was still only taking 60 m&s per feed and not gaining much weight at all.

Jojo, I've spent ages tonight looking for options of what to get next to Entertain Emma. She hates being on her back, can't sit unaided, and hates her bouncer now. Can manage a short time in the mamas and papas seat and play tray, and that's it.

No I don't think it's too early I always give Macie a bath at 6 n we have a good play n splash then I bring her back down around 6.30 feed her take her up n settle her n she's mostly fast on between 7 and half past xxx
