How are all you new mummies doing?

Not sure about the wipes, think it's square. I get the sainsburys ones when they're on offer so i think they work out to £1 a pack which isnt too bad.

thomas keeps waking up coughing and snuffling. he's finally gone to sleep after some calpol and aspiratorating his nose. poor little soul.

13 weeks on and I'm still using cotton wool pads and warm water when changing his bum! When I'm out though I like the huggies aloe Vera wipes I find they have the best texture nice and soft I find others quite abrasive!

i never used cotton wool, found it too much of a faff and i hate the feel of it. the sainsburys ones have aloe vera and camomile in them (or something similar) and are pretty soft. MIL bought some huggies ones and they are really rough in comparison, but i don't think they are the ones you mentioned stacey.

I still swear by hug gues pure. I've trued superdrug, aldi, tesco and nothing comes close for me.

We never used cotton wool either we used water wipes instead at the beginning and I loved those but at 2.50 a pack they're too expensive! Even 1.50 a pack when they're on a good offer - can't keep that habit up lol

Yeh they're the ones jojo! Love them
I don't use cotton wool as it's crap!, I use the cotton wool pads they are totally different and easy to use :)

Yea I know the pads you mean stace! I use them to take eye makeup off :) ( small ones )

I'm yet to have any nappy rash !! I'm Suprised babies even get it! Oscars little bum is perfect! I could eat it!!

Luke's bum gets slightly red in the crack lol but that's cos his poos have gone very wet recently. I find superdrug wipes are also very wet and I have to dry Luke a lot after using them.

The Huggies pure are smooth and thick and great - they've never torn

I read that teething can cause nappy rash due to baby's wee being a lot stronger, I tend to change nappies quite frequently though apart from through the night but if he wakes for a bottle I always change him then.

can't even stand to touch cotton wool pads :( - no nappy rash here either. I just use barrier cream when he looks slightly pink and that puts a stop to anything.

I'm picking up thomas' casts tomorrow. can't wait :) so excited

I'm using doublebase to get rid of redness which works nicely :)

Ow I'm not looking forward to jabs!

How are you ladies today?

Doctor yesterday just said that Summer has colic and there is nothing they would want to do as she is perfectly healthy. Even though I mentioned her waking up screaming etc : ( she said had I tried infacol and I said yes. Said they wouldn't prescribe colief but I can try it if I want. Just said ride it out and it will get better.

On the plus side, Summer had a great night and slept 10-4! I woke up with boobs like rocks though and had to express 10oz to relieve. I think she must have tired herself out, she is making up for it with the feeding this morning!

I picked up my new car last night so I'm a happy bunny. I got a Renault captur and love it. I had a fiat 500 and its been a nightmare with fitting in pram and car seat! Xxx

Just realised you have called your baby Summer too! Good choice! Xx

Ah thanks Nicky! Summer Ava is a lovely combo. We have Summer Nancy after her great grandma xx

When did all you ladies get your babies in to a bedtime routine? Summer is still not going down until about 10-10:30 and she still fights this. We keep bathing her and then feeding her around 7:30 but it doesn't seem to help. HV says its normal for her not to want to go to bed earlier yet, just wondered what are your experiences? X

I think I may have had a breakthrough last night, well a break through for is in terms of Ellie only being 6 weeks old!

She won't settle in her bed until between 11-12 even though she will sleep on us if we let her way before this.

We decided to feed her two normal 4oz bottles 5 hours apart with a 3 oz inbetween as she can't manage more than 4oz in a sitting but the cluster feed meant that after a bath and change she went down by 11.45 and is still asleep now :)

Obviously a earlier bedtime is better but I'm happy with a solid sleep! She done it last week 2 nights too but because I attempted to get her to bed earlier it mucked her up. So I decided to do what she preferred and it worked :)

P.s any of you who use pampers amazon have size 2 and 3 for 8 pound a box and it's free delivery over 10 pound. :)

We still use cotton wool and water, although I use the occasional wipe when out and about or if we have a nappy explosion.

Rachaell, we only started getting her down earlier in the evening 2 weeks ago. Before that she just wouldn't go to sleep but now she clearly wants to go up to bed, although she does fight going to sleep once up there.

Speaking of which, she woke up when we went up to bed last night and it took 90 minutes to get her back down! Am exhausted :-( Fortunately she went back down super quick after her early morning feed.

Thanks for Amazon Pampers tip TT254; although realising we have about 400 various size 3 nappies stashed under the cot already I think I'd better stop buying more for a while!

For the first time in a while Hayley woke at 1:15am for a feed. I really don't miss night time feeds! Zzzz. And she still woke at 6 o'clock on the dot like usual! Althought her nappy did leak tonnes of wee...heaviest nappy she's ever had lol She's not had a feed yet though :O

I gave up with the cotton wool and water after a few weeks. Too much faffing about, and the wet wipes do just as good a job lol

The photographer is starting to upload of the picture from the photo shoot. My girl looks amazing! I don't like the ones im in though, think I ruin it!

How exciting. Let us see :-)

I had the worst nightmare last night that S had went missing, I woke up feeling horrible and just wanted to hug her. Then this morning she woke up choking again, I swear it was like she had something stuck in her throat. She doesn't have the blocked nose that she had when this happened before. Even hubby got scared and he's normally laid back! I'm thinking it was maybe even a wee hair or something cos she is grabbing mine like mad just now!

Go TT, that's really good!

Rachaell, I found we fell into a natural routine with her about 7 weeks where she would be down between 9-10. Now we are between 8 and 9, bath bottle and bed. It's been so much better since she went into her own room at 8 weeks tho. We still don't have one per say in the day but I'm happy with that if she is sleeping through the night x

Hayley - 12 weeks :D
