Hi Ladies,

Hope you are all well.

The time is getting closer where I am thinking about starting to buy stuff for my hospital bag, what things are you / have you all packed? I don't want to miss any essentials.

:):) x

It's good to Google hospital bag lists, Tommy's midwives etc have lists made but mine is basically

Breastpads, nappies, waterwipes, maternity pads, Muslins

Sleeveless vests and sleepsuits for baby, a hat, easy access tops and comfy trousers for me, knickers, socks, if I have space I'll pack a thin dressing gown, a flannel,

Toiletries - the usual plus spritz for bits and lansinoh, definitely lip balm as it gets really dry. And I've packed some cookies

Some Bridget Jones knickers ... !! I ended up having a csection and my husband had to go out and buy me some but bought 3 sizes to big !! X x

Biiiiiiiiiig knickers. You'll want them for sure.

I packed a couple of outfits for baby. My own towel. Nightdresses for me. Snacks for me (although I couldn't touch a thing) nappies, snacks for husband, book, iPad. I can't really remember what else I packed.

I didn't have to pack milk as I knew the hospital supplied it, that'd be worth you checking out if you're planning on bottle feeding.

Nightie that opens at front (if BFing, if not any will do), granny panties (asda full briefs are great), Pjs, clothes to come home in (I've got OK bottems but they look like jogging bottoms, and a loose top), x3 baby grows and vests, 1 outfit, wipes, nappies. Shower gel, shampoo (I'm just taking dry shampoo cos hate washing my hair with no hair dryer), deodorant, toothbrush and paste, pads and breast pads. That's all I've got.
Also I notice you live in Staffordshire, are you going to stoke Hosp to give birth? They are really pushy for BFing and will not offer anything to you if you don't wanna BF...

Thanks 😊
Yes I’m going to Stoke, I do plan to BF so no issues there.

Are you going to stoke?

Yeah, had my daughter there in August... I wanted to BF and after 2 days I couldn't take the pain anymore so I said I didn't wanna do it anymore, the midwife said well you'll have to go to Tesco down the road and get some cos we don't supply anything... I bleed out during birth and passed out, was in special care for a day before this, I couldn't stand up without passing out and that's what she told me to do! I was so mad... They seem better this time round though.

Oh gosh that’s not good!!

I’ve heard nothing but good things about stoke so I hope it has changed. I will take some formula just in case then, thanks for the tip

The other midwives were great it was just that one.
You can buy a box of little ready made bottles with the bottle lids so don't have to take anything else. Look in asda.

Oh take a pillow! They only give you one.
