For me... Two red towels, maternity pads breast pads cosmetics and hygiene (toothbrush, makeup comb etc... ) Two dark pj's (just going to use hospital nighty for labour because it gets covered in blood and thrown away... ) night gown slippers leaving clothes. three pairs of knickers pack of paper knickers. For the baby: Two baby grows two vests two pair of socks muslin square Soft swaddling blanket receiving blanket Going home out fit pack of nappies pack of cotton wool. small towel Dummies Don't think I needed much more than that when I had Tia... And I also have a spare couple of plastic bags with extra clothing incase I can't leave the hospital for another day.... I'll get DH to bring it in..
my god, id need a suitcase! thanks for that gives me something to work on. Ill have to buy a bag, and sounds like i should buy a nightie thats cheap and dark!
ooh thanks for that, they arent in my size but others ones there look good and cheap too. havent found that site bt thanks!
As long as i've got some nappies and clothes for me and baby then huby can bring the rest in after baby is born. One thing though, smeone mentioned pj's for after baby is born, i'd pack a nightie too, if for any reason you end up having a c-section i wouldn't have thought you'd want anythng with a waistband .. just a thought though
I have a question re what to pack? Assuming everything goes well with the labour etc. how long generally are you in hospital for once baby has arrived? Based on your answers how many nappies & other 'disposable items' are you all packing? Ta very much ladies
depends you can leave within a few hrs.... im packing one packet of nappies.. we are gonna sort all our stuff out this weekend.. get all the stuff ready for home n that..and just check everythings here and i dont need anything else..
Pack for 48 hours initially.. Babies don't get very dirty after all they sleep mostly for the first few days... so you don't need a lot for them. But they will go through about 8 nappies a day. You can be in hospital anywhere from 6 hours to a week... depending on what happens during your labour... so it's difficult to say... If you pack for 2 days you know you will either have too much (which is fine) or you have enough for someone to bring more in for you...
i packed mine last weekend pretty much the same as everyone else, but as we live 5 mins from the hospital OH can get anything i forgot really quickly
