Hello,

I'm off to Florida on Friday with my 10 week old babba. Here's my list of things to take, have I forgotten anything?

Formula (readymade for flight)
Disposable cold water steriliser bags
Extra cold water steriliser tablets
Bottles and dummies

Nappies
Nappy sacks
Baby wipes

Clothes (including sun hat, uv protected swim suit, shorts, vests, sleepsuit, romper etc)
Muslin cloths
Swim nappies
Cellular blanket
Towels

Buggy
Uv buggy cover
Sun cream
Travel clothes wash
Calpol

Also, any tips for a long flight?

Thanks

I don't have any experience myself but we were planning on taking out LO soon, he's 11 week at the moment! Everyone ive spoken too have said when they are so young they usually sleep a lot as the hum and buzz from the plane makes them sleepy! hopefully this is true, my baby loves the car and sleeps everytime we get in it so im hoping it might be the same for a plane xxx

Couple of change of clothes for the flight in case of accidents! Blankets as well tends to get chilly on some flights.

I would take some anti bac wipes for the baby change on the plane toilets, the airport cleaners use the same cloths for everything. Yuk!

Speak to the crew, you may get lucky and offer you a row with an extra seat if available.

Perhaps a dummy for take off and landing? May help stop ear popping.

I dont even know if babies bother that much but I need a suckable.

We needed a dummy for landing. Taking off didn't bother my LG too much.

We used a baby carrier in the airport. Much easier than bringing Pram through security.

you need nose spray for the flight, keeps the nasal and ear passage clear and will prevent ear ache and possible infections. Every time I flew before I knew this my boy got ill and wasn't himself for days.. He's fine now I use nose spray...

Either carrier or buggy has to be scanned in security, if you get a tag on the buggy with R on it you can get it back when exiting the airplane at the destination.

Oh and with an under 2 regardless if it's mentioned or not you get priority so you can pass through at the gate ;)

Dummies & bottles do not help enough to prevent ear ache.. I fly atleast twice a year with my son.

Its strange how one thing can help us and not someone smaller isnt it.

The mind boggles.

I constantly eat a suckable, because constant change in air pressure means constant popping - so I dont even use mine solely for landing and take off.

I know it's awful.. I think maybe when he was about 4 months it did work because it was easier to have him keep on drinking or just offering some bottle when you could notice it but last time that didn't work! I just used extra nose spray! I flew about 4-6 times before, before someone bothered to tell me that's your magic stuff to bring along at the time I was abroad and he was getting ill quite quick and not getting better, so I nipped into a boots type of shop got that recommended.. Bought it walked outside used it and within moments I had my child back! I then asked on the plane when to do it and she said about 40 mins prior to flight so it gets a chance to work.. I did it just before take off and it still worked, I thought omg this should be on everything that you might take and the nose spray itself so no parent would ever have to endure a sick child purely because the got earache on the plane!

I think or it is for me, if then ear ache would persist or occur after landing with having used the spray, it's easier to make the decision to seek medical attention.. I mean I don't fancy sitting in a hospital or out of hours doctor for ages if that's the remedy or risking picking something up.. I tend to visit my family where I grew up so it's not that bad if anything was to happen (aside from the fact that it cost be costly) but if I was somewhere foreign I wouldn't entertain sitting around sick people :p

Thanks for the tips ladies! No car seat required but I have got a carrier. Put Austin in it today he looked so confused!

Yes JD I remember u saying this b4 about nasal spray. I've seen it in boots, I will pick some up.

What is becoming apprent is that I need more luggage!

Is it the same nasal spray you give them when they have a cold?

We're hoping to take LO to Florida next year but he will be either 10months or 16months so not so easy to keep still lol x
