Hello ladies!

I gave birth on Wednesday & had a 2nd degree tear. I've arrived at the point where I need to have a BM but simply daren't!

I'm quite sore...tear is healing, not infected but I do have a hemorrhoid which is making sitting extremely uncomfortable.

I've been eating plenty of foods &
Drinking lots to try make the first one as easy as poss but I daren't do it. I've even tried the clean pard against stitches but still daren't!

Any advice? xx

Easy to say but try and relax. It won't be as bad as you think. I was the same as you with dd, had a tear and stitches and held it in for a few days as I was petrified but when I went it wasn't too bad. Good luck!

I'm trying. I thought I'd lay on bed for 10 with knees tucked up....fell asleep instead!! Whoops!! x

Get someone to nip to the chemist and get some Lactulose.

I'd also try fruit (dates, figs, prunes)

Best of luck, I remember being scared to go and I didn't have any tears or stitches..

X

Only advice is .... It's not as bad as you think it's gonna be !! I had an episiotomy and have never been soo scared !! But it wasn't bad atall xx

I have lactulose in - never thought to try it! I'll take some of that. Gonna have a bath & try again. Thanks for reassurance ladies! xx

It really won't be as bad as you think! Shuffle around on the toilet until you find the position that puts the least pressure on your stitches - I found bringing my knees together with my feet flat on the floor the optimal position!

Success! Found some Movicol in the cupboard so had 2 sachets :) and it wasn't bad at all...didn't even hurt! Thanks again ladies xx

I feel a massive sense of accomplishment.....how silly is that! xc

Haha it's not silly at all. I'm dreading my first one after having this baby even though I know it wasn't too bad last time! The glamour of having kids!!!! X
