... in baby's red book that we should go to the clinic around this time. She didn't say why, she said no appointment was necessary and I should just pop in.

That's a bit vague, what could it be about?

Yeah I should imagine it's just to weigh him. My HV stopped coming to see me when Phoebe was a month old and said I should take her to clinic every 2ish weeks to be weighed and she'd only come out now if I called and needed her x

Yep to get weighed, they tell you to go once a month once the HV has discharged you, it will also be or you to raise any concerns

Once the HV stopped visiting me/arranging particular appointments I didn't make any effort to see her. I knew Lizzie was doing ok and gaining weight, plus I don't like our HV, so we didn't see her between about 6 weeks and when she had her 9 month check. So don't feel you MUST go if you don't want to

Well, if it's just to get him weighed, we do that regularly, and he's borderline OBESE!
