Have I Let Daniel Down? re: breast feeding!

kazlin, you wouldn't be a Mum if you didn't feel guilty about every single decision you make every single day. Okay, breast/bottle is a big decision, but as Urchin says, there's much much more to being a Mum. Please don't waste any more time worrying about it.

I really hope I (or any other posters) don't come over as being overly pro breast feeding on the forum. I am passionate about it and proud of myself and my baby and our achievement so far but I firmly believe that what works for one Mum, won't work for another - and after suffering fairly badly with PND, I know that its much more important that as Daniel's Mum, you are happy and healthy and don't waste your time worrying about things you can't change.

 to you.

P.S. No-one could give me a straight answer on the anti-ds and breast feeding either, so I didn't take them, however, I wasn't already on them (DD was about 4/5 months old when I developed PND), so that's completly different.

I do think that its important to note that it would be nice to have an answer on anti-ds and breastfeeding from the NHS.

Thank you so so much everyone for all your very uplifting replies, I feel loads better now

My mum breastfed me for 6 weeks before stopping because she hated it. I'm a teacher with reasonable health though I do catch lots of colds, I suffered chronic fatigue and pain for a year or 2 and I currently have SPD and a pulled muscle in my back.

My brother was given formula from day one and he is sporty fit and generally gets ill less than me even though as a doctor he is exposed to more bugs.

So based on the statistics from my family I'd say he's better off on formula than breastmilk :D

Thanks kalia. Wow, I can't believe that your little Gabrielle is a month old already! :D

Iv just seen this mate! Now you listen to your Aunty Foxxi... You havent let Dan down at all.... I didnt plan to breast feed ..Fynn has always been bottle fed and I certainly dont feel like Iv let him down.. like someone has already said, it takes more than feeding a baby to be a fab mummy.

Lots of words of wisdom from girls on this thread ... so listen to them!

Oh Kazlin I have only just seen this! STOP feeling that way now! :shakehead: You are obviously a wonderful mummy and Daniel is a happy, gorgeous, healthy little boy!!

I would never 'look down' on bottle feeding mums and this is one reason I don't tend to answer many posts in the feeding section as I don't want to come across in that way as I always find it hard to write things without it coming across the wrong way IYKWIM? Simply because I don't know the first thing about bottle feeding!

Please don't spend these precious first months worrying about this Kazlin
