Has anyone out there had medical management after a mmc? **UPDATE 02/05/14**

Aw that's great he doesn't need to go back. He will look after you. I hope all is okay hun . sending big hugs xxx

Hi all,

Just to let all you lovely know who have kindly taken the time to reply to me that I am home from hospital we went in and I got the scan 1st which showed and re-confirmed the pregnancy had stopped. The nurse then went over the explanation of medical management but she refused to do it in the end as she felt I was just not ready for it however I tried to explain that I would be fine and no matter after however long I would never be ready but it still has to happen, but the nurse refused and said she would rather for my own mental health give me another week to pass naturally so I don't have to face surgical or medical route.

I have to go back a week today to get tablets then on thurs I have to go back again to get more tablets and will be kept in for the day.

Sorry to hear that. How are you feeling about waiting another week?

You're very brave waiting to miscarry naturally - not something I could have done as mentally I needed closure as soon as possible.

x

now that I have closure and def know the preg had ended at 5-6weeks (meaning I know there is no more hope to cling to and I now know in my mind it really has gone if you see what I mean) I wish I did just go through with it today but however on saying that I feel very strongly against the medical and surgical route and this week is gonna give it another 7 days to pass naturally and if it does I don't have to face the medical or surgical route.

Yeah i bet its horrible the waiting but if its gonna make you feel a little better for it to at least happen naturally then i guess its worth waiting a little longer. Big hugs hun. Hope your hubby is okay too xxx

hi millie yeah the waiting is horrible but if it happens naturally then at least I don't have to face the other routes and in my mind that's the best option but the nurse told me today 4 weeks is the maximum they will let me wait and if not by then I really do have to go through with it

Yeah will be better if it happens naturally, i hope it does for you! Then you wont have to face medical management and also can be in your own surroundings etc . Once its over you can get back to ttc and I really hope you get a super sticky bean next time! Xx

Hi dotty,

so did you conceive again straight away in the nov?

Apologies for not responding sooner. I've not been on for a little while. Nov was my first af after the medical management so followed advice to not try again until after that. I got my bfp in March 2013 so was about 4 month ttc. I must admit that the waiting 6 weeks for af was like an eternity but at least I knew everything was back to normal before ttc again.

I hope the extra week will let you feel like your body has had it's best shot at trying to sort I itself out naturally. I gave it just over 2 weeks to pass naturally before arranging my medical management. I was a bit scared and hoped nature would just take it's course but my body didn't seem to want to let go. I wish you all the best and am so sorry you are having to go through this. xxx

Hi everyone,

Well the miscarriage happened naturally last night at about 6pm although it was very light I had really really bad cramps with it and felt really faint. however it seems to be tailing off today which im quite surprised at because I was told it would be very heavy bleed and this is just llike my normal period.

Does anyone out there know if this is normal?

What a long haul for you. I don't have any real advice other than the bleeding might come and go a bit. Sorry for asking but did you pass the sac? I'd have thought it might have been a heavier bleed but then our bodies start to work away preparing for mc too. I hope you're over the hardest part. X

I had a very heavy bleed over the hours/day i passed baby but the next few days was a lot lighter aside from a few clotty bits xxx

Hi ladies thanks for your replies,

@megsmeadow I don't think I have passed the sac as ive only had light bleeding with bright red blood so I don't think so when the nurse at the hospital told me what id pass she said it would be the sac which would be a grey colour does that sound right to anyone else?

@millie ive only had really light bleeding I expected it to be really really heavy though

I'm not sure about the sac as it was a bit different with my m/c as later on but I have heard people say it is a grey colour.
It might be a bit on and off in terms of heaviness before you pass the sac I think, if your getting faint and having bad pain I'd suggest going in to get checked over as I know sometimes there can be problems with passing. Before I m/c properly I did have a bit of lighter spotting, which never advanced so hence the medical management. Once I started actually bleeding though was very heavy for that one day then got lighter. Is that spotting about right for what your having? It shouldnt come down to medical management though hopefully so don't worry! Dont want to scare you! :) I think it can be a bit stop/start so see how you get on the next few days but any faintness etc go in! Big hugs xxx

By the sounds of it, its the beginning of it happening naturally. With one of my miscarriages, I spotted for a couple of weeks before it happened, then had a little light bleeding and then heavy. I honestly don't know what colour the sac was as I didn't want to look but I felt it when it happened. I am so sorry you're going through this horrible time xx

ive read quite a few posts on here that some women feel it "blobing" out and I def have not felt that yet.

I was supposed to go in next week for medical management, im not sure if its the same everywhere but I had to go in on tues and take the 1st lot of tablets then go back on the thurs to get more and was supposed to stay in for 12 hours so im not sure if I still have to go in on the tues ive tried phoning and asking but because its sat the wards are closed which I think is odd for a ward to operate 9-5 mon-fri

I know mine was a different stage but I definitely felt a 'blobbing' sensation just before I passed both baby and then when I passed the placenta. I'm assuming it will be the same for passing the sac, you'll be able to feel when you do pass it I should think.

I think it is roughly the same in different areas, I had to go in the Friday to swallow two tablets, I think, which didn't do anything at all, didn't even get cramps from those or bleed any heavier! So when I went in the Sunday I had to have more tablets and then some inserted vaginally. Nothing happened for a few hours (think around 5 hours) so I had some more and it all happened quite quickly after that. I also had antibiotics and lots of monitoring. You should be okay to go home after the 12 hours, I think I went after 11 hours! :) It is a relief to just get home and have time to yourself afterwards. Everyone was nice, staff were lovely, but I hated how the ward was next to the neonatal unit, felt so depressing! Although I would of preferred to pass naturally I think if I had been at home the time of passing baby I would of been panicking not knowing what to do so it sometimes can be nice having them there for reassurance.

So maybe they will say come in Tuesday anyway? Seems silly they aren't open on a Saturday! Try your best to get in touch over the next few days (not sure what their easter hours will be like for telephone ) :) Although it's horrible when you know for sure it's all over (I was in a bit of denial when baby had no heartbeat) you are also relieved in a way as it's horrible knowing your still to pass. You will feel better when it's all over I promise :) Hope you get your super sticky bean soon!

*TMI WARNING*

So last night and today has been a pretty light bleed however at 5pm I started getting bad cramping again but thought nothing of it as ive been getting it on an off all day. So I got up to go start cooking and could feel the blood dripping but thought nothing of it again as I sometimes get that on my period anyway.

15 mins later I decide to go and check and my word the amount of blood was phenomenal so I had to change everything pants trousers everything and when I did I realised the amount of blood that had come out while on the toilet-I got very scared by this point literally 5 mins later I felt wet again it had happened again and again and again.......

so within 30mins I have had to change myself and gone through 6 sanitary towels, although husband and I know a miscarry is heavier than a normal period we felt this was not right and phoned NHS24 they have told me a dr will phone me back in an hour. has this happened to anyone else?
