So honoured to be doing this thread for Gilly who has became one amazing friend to me and supported me so much the last couple of months AND our 1st September mummy!!!
Gilly went in to hospital yesterday for a scan and was told her fluids were low so the consultant advised to do a C Section TODAY!!
Booked in for 12.00 so I'll keep you all updated!
Good luck Gilly can't wait to see pictures. Lots of love x x x
12.25pm All checked in now, Gilly is waiting for anaestheist to come round but section slot is at 2.00pm , give or take any emergencies coming in.
1.05pm text off Gilly ' This hour has gone so quickly!! My surgeon is hilarious, talks so quickly and asks me questions so quickly I can't answer them in time! Feeling positive. They will be going straight in to an incubator together and probably will have to go up to SCBU but hopefully only for a day if that. Xxx
4.42pm best text ever off Gilly 'Merryn Susan Kirton born 14.46 weighing 5lb 7oz.
Indi Frances Kirton born 14.48 weighing 4lb 7oz. They've stayed with me for the time being, feeding well, had breast and prem-formula top up. Will try a photo. So in love! xxx (Both middle names are their grandmas')'
5.15pm Gilly feels really good, she's starting to get the feeling back now so going to have some painkillers. Girls temperatures are spot on , just got to get two good blood sugar readings and they can all go to the ward , no SCBU!!!
23.40pm blood sugars have risen for both girls so no more heel pricks as they're managing themselves. They're maintaining their temperatures on their own so just have to make sure they carry on feeding and don't loose more then 10%. Couldn't be going better!!
