I have bought some of these tablets

How long before actively TTC should I start to take it?:eh: Is it OK to be on it for a couple of months whilst not pregnant? O/h not due back from afghanistan for about 6 weeks.

Also, as most people have prob gathered I haven't had an AF since coming off the Pill in January :wall2::wall2:, I'm wondering if taking folic acid supplements would effect the outcome of any test results that the specialist may run?:eh:

I was told that ideally you take them for 3 months before getting pregnant and then for first 3 months of pregnancy. It doesn't do you any harm being on them. I've no idea if they would effect your test but I doubt it - its a vitamin we get from diet anyway. :)

With my little man i started to take it just before i got my bfp. But this time ive started to take pregnicare already, as it is advised u can start taking as soon as you stop ur contraception, hope this helps x x

Superdrug did have pregnacare on offer - normally £12 (!! was their super duper ones) down to about a fiver, for a months worth :)

ladies def take folic acid at least, i believe that pregnacare is good but if you can't take that then deffo get folic acid into you! xx

do you kno how excited i was to see this threaed?!

Sorry to disappoint PP!! :)
Right, I'm gonna take my first one now then! think its Tommys that I got.

Thank you for all your responses girlies - very helpful xx

my gp said that the rda for a normal person is 200 micrograms and its 400 for ttc-er but that 400 wont do anyone any harm... so he told me to just keep taking them and i wasnt going to ttc for 7 months or so after mc... and my aunt was on them for 8 years ttc and the gp said it was fine xx

oooh so I doubt 6 weeks will do any harm then! Cheers! xx

I take sanatgen. Mother to be and the oh takes father to be. they are pink and blue. The girls have stuff like folic acid and also things to help with conciving. the boys has zinc - very important for the sperm and also other bits they need.
They are about £12.99 for a month (come joint in a pack) - seems alot but i know a baby will cost SO much more!!! xx

Yeah we take the pregnacare his and hers TTC tablets! Mine is a pinky colour and OH's is purple! :)

xxx

I think if I asked O/h to take conception supplements he'd tell me to do one lol. He doesn't even take tablets for a headache unless its really bad
But I took my first one today so here's hoping something fruitful happens for me in next few months so it's not a waste of money :)

Hasn't your doc said anything? My doc spoke to me about a jump start pill? X

She's referred me to a specialist, so maybe I will get something like that, still haven't had word as to when my appointment will be. I think I'll need less of the jump start pill and more of a nuclear explosion pill lol x

I don't take them and being TTC for over 4 years, so I wander how much I would of forked out for them. You can get it from natural stuff, such as cabbage, brocolli etc...

I will only start on them if i found out i was pregnant...x
