~February & March Mummies and Babies~

clairey try sucking on ice chips or ice cubes, it helped me when I was pregnant and had bad toothache

on an excercise kick to wake myself up, I've walked into town (45mins ish) now to go to the gym. also just put ruby in a crèche for the first time ever, just for 2 hours but I want to go get her already!

Not yet I'm just taking ibuprofen which helps for about an hour.

Poor O he can't catch a break lol.

I am such a crab today Dylan was a little shit this morning I was actually shaking I was so mad at him. Off to the shops then home for a nap!

I know this sounds very chavvy but today we went to a bernados charity shop as I had 3 black bags full of clothes but really I wanted to see if I could get Spencer some wee bits for Christmas as we're disgustingly skint!

Oh my gosh I was so surprised! What a gorgeous shop! Nothing like a usual charity shop. Bright, modern and spacious! The stuff they had was gorgeous! All the clothes looked pretty brand new. All the toys, books and board games in perfect condition.

They had about 18 Prams for sale... including an icandy pram for £22!!

Seriously feel like a cheapskate but I'll definitely be back there 100 times better than the Jack and Jill market!

It is not chavvy or cheapskate Clairey.

I believe passionately in recycling, reusing, donating. Not for financial reasons but for the sake of the environment. Baby stuff especially, they grow so fast, change so quickly it is almost a shame to buy brand new. Good for you!

How is your mouth? Does a anything like anbesol soothe it?

Yes I've used all of Spencer's lol! Hopefully won't last too long!

You actually make a really good point about the recycling! Where else would they go? The bin?

When are you coming over to bonny Britain? Are you more or less nervous about the flight this time?

S has just climbed onto our sofa eek she's really growing up!

Clairey, definitely not chavvy! I buy a few things second hand too! Charity shops are essentially eBay but for a good cause!

Ladies, wanted to hear your opinions. A friend of mine has asked if I wanted E to take part in a bit of TV work. I'd get paid a good amount - £500 a shoot. However in some parts they need the babies to cry and that means making them cry by either pinching them or taking a toy away etc. I refused immediately as there was no way I was going to hurt my baby for the sake of money. My friend thought I was crazy and that I needed to loosen up. The money eould obviously been very handy but we can manage without it. What would you have done?
Xxx

The same as you.

I have worked hard to build up a trust between E and I. I couldn't let anyone intentionally him for all the money in the world.

We are here now Clairey! My mum came for a holiday and flew back with us, it was a loooooong, boring flight but we survived.

Yes that's what I thought. She didn't even mention it at first, I had to quiz her on how they handle all situations. Poor babies.x

diane - S is so clever! I bounce E up the stairs if we are going up and the other day I stopped to have a coughing fit and he just about climbed up one step to the next. They aren't teeny babies anymore!

Yeah, I figure they pinch or make mummy hide/leave the room or whatever to get on screen tears, but for me doing that to E goes against everything I have tried to teach him in the almost nine months he has been here.

oh no that's horrible babybee! def wouldn't do it xxx

Harry has just self settled for the first time in a week! Please let the snot be going so he can breathe laying flat!!!

Babybee I agree with the others about the TV work. There is no way on earth i'd intentionally make my boys cry. Pinching them is disgusting IMO!! Why would or how could anyone intentionally cause pain to a naby?! Nuts!!

I know! Yet people still do it. It baffles me!

By the way Diane, go S!!! And well done Harry for settling.x

I have just wrapped my baby secret santa gift up. I hope my swapee likes it. Just need to find a box ready to post it off in.

I wouldn't do it either, babybee. I cried when lily was given her heel prick test cos she was being made to bleed intentionally! There's no way I'd make my baby cry on purpose. And if anyone else did it I think I'd go mad! Like talulah says, we have a bond based on trust and I'd never abuse that.

Oh, and the only clothes I've bought jack new since birth are a few babygros and some socks! He's had lily / friends hand me downs for everything else, and I've filled any gaps with second hand clothes. I would like to buy him a few things really, but I've already got a 12-18 month wardrobe lined up from friends and second hand sales so it's not happening any time soon!

Hi ladies reading all your posts makes little B seem like a right lazy bum. Still only sits lol. I'm completely guilty of carrying her all the time and probably our last so I've probably baby'd her lol. And she still only 17lbs!! Anyway still keep up to date with the thread. Hope your all well xxx

Harry has a few third hand clothes and babygro. They were his cousins, then Jack (even though the cousin is younger than Jack lol) and now Harry has them. I do like to buy Harry a few new bits when he goes up a size so he has something that was just his plus they were born in different seasons so not everything is suiyable weatherwise but the majority of his wardrobe will always be Jack's old stuff although I do have a feeling that he'll catch up and possibly take over Jack eventually lol x

HL28, nice to hear from you. Don't worry Harry's not crawling yet! Neither did Jack until 9 months. You enjoy your cuddlea hun :) x

She had her 8/9 month check and HV wasn't bothered at all. Just smiled and asked if she was our last lol!! She's waving,, clapping, dancing to songs etc so we're not worried but it's mad seeing how busy some of your babies are. Xxx
