February 2017 Mummies - First Trimester

I'm so sorry Sharon - I hope it's just one of those things and everything is ok. Sorry for the ladies feeling sick too :( I really feel for you as it must be awful!!

Hopefully as we near tri 2 everyone will be starting to bloom and feel well. X

SharonP I'm hoping for the best for you.

To the ladies that are feeling really sick, I hope it doesn't last too long for you. I can't imagine feeling so poorly all the time.

And hyperemesis must be just awful.

Hoping everything is ok Sharon, sending you positive vibes.

Sorry to hear about all the sickness ladies...I'm still symptom free, even the mild cramps have stopped. Starting to worry somethings wrong. I'm thinking of getting a doppler, anyone tried it out? I'm 9+4 wks so should be able to pick up a heart beat.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow Sharon.

I would say home dopplers are OK in later pregnancy but at this early stage it is so small and difficult to pick up you are unlikely to be listening to baby's heartbeat, this is why midwifes don't listen in until much later in pregnancy and people often use them to reassure themselves but other than hearing a heartbeat it doesn't tell you anything else about the rhythm where as the professionals can tell so much more from listening in such as if they baby is distressed and things. I however did buy one in my first pregnancy and found it lovely a relaxing listening to the heartbeat chug along but that was after my 20 week scan and I would never rely on it if I felt something wasn't right I would get a professional to check you over even if they just use a Doppler quickly and give reassurance.

Just popping in to say congrats KimmyRJ, we were in the August 2015 mummies together. Lovely news!

Well ladies barring some miracle (which could happen) I guess I'm out!

We are TTC again. DD is 11 months now. Hope your little girl is well too? We have an August mummies fb page if you're interested?

Just wanted to say congratulations to the expecting mothers! I was in the February 2016 group, with my daughter being due on 27th. She didn't come until the 9th March though!! Can't believe it's been a whole year since I found out I was pregnant.

Enjoy it ladies, believe it or not - I actually miss it! (Obviously I've forgotten about the morning sickness and the heartburn!)

Anyone still got zero symptoms? Ive not nothing at all xx

Me neither. I actually took another test on Monday!
I shouldn't complain, but I do feel like I'm missing out on some of the experience.

I had a break from.symptoms at 8 weeks but once I hit 9 weeks on Monday they've come back with a vengeance. I woke up early this morning to really bad cramping and spotting. I had no childcare so had to drag both kids through rush hour to get to the EPU. Luckily I was second on the list so only had to wait an hour and a half. It was good news though as I got to see my little tinker wriggling around. The bleed was caused by a subchorionic haematoma but it was only small but I was told to expect more bleeding as it bleeds out.

I would kill for zero symptoms as feeling queasy and eating loads!! My phobia doesn't help so I have resorted to taking unisom and a b vit. Roll on tri 2 - I really do hate this part.

Finally called the docs as 8 weeks today and they like to see you between 8 and 10 but the midwife is only in the surgery on weds and next appointment isn't til 17th August!! I've got to call her at the birth centre on Friday but picked a pack up from the docs. I've a feeling I may of left it late. Whoops!!

Glad everything was ok babybee

As I'm a bit of a worrier I've booked for an private early scan on Saturday I'll be 9 weeks! Hopefully this will make me relax a bit more knowing it's real! Cannot wait
