Ewcm @ 7DPO!?!?! ***Updated with OPK's & HPT's***

Just caught onto this thread

I'm not sure about the double surge theory. When one egg is released, the hormones that are produced stop further eggs ripening and being released - humans are designed to only have one baby at a time.

If you have non-identical twins, the eggs are more likely to have been released at the same time or very close to one another :)

So! I'm hoping for a BFP from you assuming you don't have PCOS ;)

I looked up OPKs detecting pregnancy before and they typically detect it well before a HPT, i think a couple of days or so earlier although i can't find the image i'm referring to atm :oooo:

Ok, here is a pic - i can't link to the website because it has a virus on it :oooo: The image is clean though so you can enlarge.

Anyway, the OPKs (pink) have lines from 9 DPO but the HPT (green) doesn't seem to go postive until 14 DPO :)

Hey looby :P

I was wondering when you'd pop in with your insane amount of knowledge and wisdom! Serious have you ever considered being a fertility specialist??

I was thinking about the PCOS but (slap my wrists) - I'm very ignorant on the subject! I actually do not know how I'd know or what symptoms I'd get to point towards it? Do people who are underweight fall into the main category for PCOS?

* runs of to google *

Isn't looby like snot or something? Or is that loogy? I dunno :eh:

PCOS seems to be related to insulin resistance/diabetes which i think are more likely to be associated with people that are overweight.

I am sure i read that people that are underweight are also at increased risk, but not as much as those that are overweight but i'm not sure how being underweight causes PCOS.

I guess that some people could just be genetically inclinded to have PCOS though :eh:

I'm pretty ignorant too, a little less so since Princess went on metformin, but still ignorant

Ohhhh - i am learning about PCOS  I can feel useful being pushed out to make room... (seriously i think my brains works like that)

If there is too much insulin in the blood from eating simple sugars, the ovaries start to produce testosterone and high levels of testosterone then start to impact the levels of other hormones, like FSH which is what makes the follicles grow.

In people with PCOS the hormone levels don't surge which triggers the egg being released, so the follicles get big but don't pop and therefore ovualtion doesn't happen and the enlarged follicle just remains on the ovary.

This repeated process causes the number of enlarged follicles (cysts) to increase.

Underweight people can still produce lots of insulin from eating sugars and lack the ability to process it.

I guess people of a normal weight are assumed to have a more balanced diet and therefore less likely to suffer insulin resistance.

Louise is right there :-) I have Pcos but my bmi is 25 so is in the healthy range. Look at Victoria beckham she has it and is like a twig!!
The only way I found out I had it is because I had a scan x

Lol I'm not sure! I think your just trying to find a reason to avoid being called looby :P

Did you ever find kids call us dewease lol ?? It always makes me laugh that does!

Thanks for all the info! I got told I had to go back to the docs if I hadn't
Conceived within the 3 months since I last went for my bloods etc... So that would be around about now. If I havnt done it I will mention having a scan or something to determine if I have PCOS ..

X

I didn't have a period for nearly a year so that was a big clue. Then after my scan I had ovarian drilling and a cyst removed via keyhole, then got prescribed metformin which is actually for type2 diabetes but encourages ovulation in women with Pcos. Turns out I didn't need that in the end tho ;-) x

Hope these opk's are showing an early BFP. any updates? have you tried another hpt? oooh exciting :)

hi hun

i think like princess i got a positive opk before a positive hpt but i didn't believe that as i've had very strong lines on opks before and then af has arrived (i have pcos) i have everything crossed for you. i would say you will prob need to wait until at least 10dpo to do a hpt, even better 11 or 12dpo xx

Update for you ladies , these where last nights tests.

The first two is the OPK, the other two are HPT's

I tested again with an OPK this morning and it looks just the same as this one.
X
