Hi girls,

Ok, probably just me being easily confused but I've been using my doppler for a few weeks now with great pleasure and comfort provided.

However, in the last couple of days, I've heard the baby's heartbeat on both sides of my belly, is this normal?

Baby-beats.co.uk reckons you can hear the pulse in the placenta at the same speed as baby's heartbeat but a higher pitch. While this may be the reason, I haven't noticed a difference in pitch.

Obviously at 17 weeks, I've been for my first scan so pretty sure there's only one!!

Anyone else found they can hear the heartbeat on both sides?

Thanks,

You can hear the HB in more than one place. Its quite normal. Also LO might be moving around and away from where you are placing it and then you are picking it up to where its moved to.

yep our little one was moving about last night alot and kept moving we could hear him moving lol and his heart beat oviously was moving with him :D are you sure you deffo heared the hb? sometimes you can mistake it for your hb or the placenter, remember it's fast like a trian :D
