I went to see my doctor this morning to tell her I had a BFP and she was delighted and lovely and said we'll make sure you are taken care of to put your mind at ease.

HOWEVER..........

I went to the receptionist to make a booking in appt and the new rule is that the midwife will not see anyone until 9 weeks because of woman......and I quote verbatim 'who waste appointments by coming in too early and just lose it'.

I was so shocked, their attitude was disgusting and I will be writing a letter of complaint.

So midwife won't see me now til the end of June.

I asked to see her earlier they asked why so I told them I want an early scan, the reply was 'we'll you'll have to pay privately for that'.

I'm not expecting red carpet treatment, but I am 40 with several serious medical conditions and 2 MC's behind me.

I just feel very let down especially after the wonderful treatment I had at the hospital after the MMC and the promises that were made then.

Then I had to go into work and a colleague was too nice to me and I dissolved into tears............what a dingbat!!!

i think you must be well within your rights for an early scan. i think a stern letter of complaint is in order! xx

Oh god that's awful treatment! She clearly has never experienced the trauma of miscarriage herself and is completely insensitive, bitch!!
I would defo write a letter, also, get in touch directly with your epu and explain, maybe they will let you arrange something directly with them, bypassing your docs.
why do doctors receptionists (some of them anyway) act like such little hitlers? chip/shoulder springs to mind x

That's awful Hun, I know its the same at my docs too. He actually told me that I should see my mc (5weeks) as a late period I wanted to punch him so bad!!!! I know they see it everyday but to us it's just insensitive

Thanks ladies - I'm going to ring the midwife team, EPU and my Lupus NP tomorrow........hoping the tears don't start again!!!

I'm normally so in control, this jibbering wreck is so not me!!!!

It's natural to worry hun, I think that it is so wrong that these people can be so out of order when it comes to such sensitive issues they shouldn't get away with it. x

That's shocking, how insensitive! I didn't get booking in app till 12 weeks so it seems normal to wait in lots of areas but with your circumstances you should get an early reassurance scan. Hope it gets sorted out soon for you x

Can you just call the EPu at the hospital and say youve had a scare?
Then they will scan you!
Still complan though too right thats the most insensitive thing ever!

That's very cruel in the way she spoke to you and clearly doesn't have compassion the silly woman! My docs won't book you until your at least 8 weeks either to see the midwife so I asked her for an early scan when I saw her x
