I have been offered my neices crib from my sister for free but i was wondering will i be better off just buying a moses basket because obviously you cant have a crib anywhere in the house but a moses basket you can.

What do you think?

if you're offered anything TAKE IT cassi whether you want it or not!

But if it would be better to have a moses basket id rather not clutter the house up

I agree! I took a moses basket from a friend and a crib from my sister.

The basket is in the living room and crib in the bedroom. When Stanley was tiny we just put the basket inside the crib at night, but now he sleeps in it as it is.

Obviously you should buy new matresses, but I'm with Budge. I took pretty much everything I was offered. It's such an expensive time!

why is everyone repeating themselves? :rotfl:

Yeah but if you just put the moses basket in the crib its abit of a waste having the crib isnt it? I would rather if it would be more convinient get a moses basket and not have the crib. otherwise il have a crib that i dont use and that is pointless...

As you said you had a moses basket and crib but used the moses basket more? I take it the basket is the more convinient of the 2. My sister is TTC again now anyway so id probly only be borrowing the crib.

thx cas xx

cassi you could just get rid of the crib if its not needed.

if you refuse things then people won't offer again. Thats why i take what im offered then onbe day i might get offered something i want :D

My mum taught me well in that respect

Its my sister, she will always offer again, she is one of the people that said she wishes she had got a basket instead...

I already have a baby bath, vests, and primo viaggio car seat off her and tonnes of other things i have accepted well :D

I just REALLY, REALLY want Cassi to get the crib! :)

He's was only int the basket/crib combo for a week when he was tiny, cause the baskets are smaller. They do grow out of the baskets quite quick, so I'd be tempted to say that if you only want one, a crib's a better investment :?

Plus, whenever I say to OH 'put him in his basket' I feel like I'm talking about a dog! :rotfl:

:rotfl: good point...il just take the crib then...if he naps downstairs il put him in the pram or bouncy chair:)

I've never had a moses basket, I love cribs as they are so much bigger so stay in them for much longer.

I agree. I had a crib instead of a moses basket as I knew Seren was going to be tall. She was able to stay in her crib til 6 months. For napping downstairs she was either in her bouncy chair or in our arms.

For next time we are going to get a hammock for downstairs :D

post a picture of this hammock you're on about please beanie. is it a new thing?

i think moses baskets are lovey coz they look so cosy in the room. Even though mine were harly in theres i still liked to look at it :rotfl:

I wanted a hammock for lily but neil wouldn't let me get one ( the spoil sport :shakehead: )

i was thinking of getting one of them hammocks, then i thought it may be a waste of money cause they wont be in it for that long but then again if my sister is TTC then i guess she could use it when her baby comes then give it back to me for when i have another little 1 so then its getting a good use, or sell it on fleabay i think they have a good sell rate too... :D

I would do like beanie and get it for downstairs i wouldnt use a hammock in place of a moses basket/crib for night sleeping etc...
