Hi guys, just wondering what contraception people were going to be using after having their lo? Can you take the pill when you are breastfeeding? I'm not sure what to do. We have never used condoms and I wouldn't trust us to rely on them and I do not want another baby yet! Xx

Im planning on going back on the depo injection. I had it for a few years then switched to the mini pill - cant have normal pill due to migraines - and i fell pregnant on the pill xx

Well I'm on depo and the coil at the minute lol. Due to changing my mind after having the depo. I started off on cerazette while I decided what route I was going to go down xx

If you are breast feeding , the progestogen only pill is recommended as combined has oestrogen which can reduce milkmsupply.

There iare a few different types of contraception while breast feeding. Your MW or GP will discuss at your postnatal check.

Iv gone for the mirena coil, and so far so good!!!
I was always squeamish about the thought of a coil, but after having a baby it's nothing - I'm hoping to have another baby in a few years. So seemed the most sensible for me...xx

I have the mirena coil.

Had some bleeding on an off since it was fitted but otherwise no probs. GP said the bleeding should settle after a couple of months though.

oops was meant to add, im on cerazzette but so far iv had two periods in 11days, and it made me 8days late for my last one!! panic stations or what

apart from irregular periods tho ive had no probs with it.

I did hve the patch but i was getting sick before each period.. nt normal.. so im now on cerazette and going down the injectoon route i think xx

i'm not on any and don't intend to get pregnant, but everytime i use something within 4 months i'm pregnant. everytime i don't i don't get pregnant. i'm very odd according to my doctors, my first is results of the mini pill (but MC) second is the implant third is the depo. got court on other ones too but never got further than 6 weeks with them. x x x

I'd just like to say if you fancy another baby at some point in the next few years , I'd try to avoid the depo injection. It is good, but as progesterone only based, my skin was a nightmare... and I still feel this was responsible for having to try for over 10 mths for my second son.. (I'd only had 4 jabs!, all periods stopped and it messed me up)

Its different with every the depo is hun, but 90% of cases have your reaction i have pain in my bum from it keeps iching ahhh x x x

im off for the none hormonal coil lasts ten years which i love and shouldn't effect my weight or moods like the others have! x

I'm going to give the copper coil a go if I can ever get it fitted! I'm keep to go down the no hormones route as the pill has messed me up so much in the past!

As much as we hate them it will have to be condoms for us.

I'm not having anything hormonal and I don't fancy the coil.

I can't forsee us resuming a normal sex life any time soon though, I barely have time to brush my teeth some days

IM going for this too for the same reasons..


I was previously on the implants and went up two sizes so thinking another hormone based contraception will do the same.

I really do think the impalant messed me up as when I got my implant out we didn't use anything for a year and then after the year I lost all the weight again and we got our BFP on cycle 2 of trying..
