contraception worries after!

hey girls, so im not a mummy yet, however im thinking about contraception early as me and OH want to leave it a few years before the next one. And i was thinking about the injection thing in my arm or merina. However, i don;t want to put weight on due to my contraception and was wondering if people have ried either of them could you please give me some pros and cons for them. I know everyone reacts differently, however, these are quite intrusive methods of contraception and dont want to put my body through it if its juts not going to work as i want it too....

im thinking the same thing,

we are thinkin of waiting about 2 yrs, but will probs change our mind when were goin through the terrible 2's lol

i originaly at 16 was on microgynon (or what ever its called "the pill" then wanted something more perminant so i didnt fall pg, then had the injection n made me put on 2 stone, then changed to the mirena coil,didnt put any weight on with that, liked that except OH felt it when we were having andafter i had it taken out realised i cud feel it too, but they dont normally put them in women b4 they have kids i was told AFTER it came out! pfft,

then went back on mini pill after that, didnt put any weight on with that either, but it took me 13 months to get it out my system and get periods back to normal and fall pregnant, so i dont really wana plan that far ahead when we wana try again, but dont wana rely and spend a fortune on condoms!!

my SIL and best mate has had the one that goes in ur arm like a hairgrip after kiddies and ended up having to go on the pill aswell to stop them bleeding (everyday) so thats kinda putting me off that, but after 6 months they are both off the pill now and settled down into normal cycles,

good luck in deciding, i kno SIL had the contraception discussion at 34weeks and then the thing in her arm after 2weeks of having my niece!

I got pregnant after I missed one or two of the 3-hour windows on my mini-pill, so it might not take that long for everyone

Oh, and you can get regular free condoms from a doctor / family planning clinic / GUM clinic

I was on the implant (thing that goes in your arm) and was an active 8.5stone 18year old, had it for a year, didn't change my life in any way and became 11 stone after a year on it! An looked fat too! So annoying, so I decide to have it out and got pregnant a week later whilst waiting for a cycle to go on the pill. Oops! So the implant is a bit of a dodgey one, also didn't stop bleeding for 3.5 months towards the end, all got a bit much for me! Just a word of advice. Lol. X
