Clomid questions

Hi ladies, apologies if these have been asked a million times before I just want to get your thoughts on a few things.

I have so far with the help of metformin had a normal period last month(before metformin I hadn't had a period in 9 months), and I've started af again today which makes my cycles around 28 days (yey).

So I've been told to take 50mg of clomid starting on day 2, however the first day of my period is always quite light. So do I start tomorrow or do I start the day after (which will most likely be the second day of a full bleed but the 3rd day of actual af)

Also I have a very important tax exam on the 10th June, will the symptoms of clomid be effecting me by then? (Ie 8 days after the first pill) and what sort of symptoms can I expect?

What do you mean by light ie just spotting when you wipe or are you filling a panty liner? I know that's gross but it depends if it's spotting or light full flow - if the latter then that's still cd1. I've seen some folk starting in cd3 anyway so it won't be the end of the work of your wrong by a day.

The symptoms should be gone by your exam. I took mine in the morning as if I took it at night I got bad night sweats which kept me awake x

It's a little more than spotting but it's always like that day 1 so I will start it on the second day of a full bleed.

I've waited for this for so long I hope it works! X

Hey!

I am the opposite here! I took mine at night so I would sleep through the symptoms and feel better during the day (even though I would indeed get some sweats) But you know what, at least for me, even though the side effects were not exactly pleasant they are for a really good cause so it takes the edge off.

In any case I only had them on the days I took clomid, after that everything became much better. So from cd 5 to cd 9 I had quite severe headaches and hotflashes but then it all went away cd 10!! Everybody is different but I would say it should be gone!

Bit of an update- I really expected to be in "full flow" by now but it's still quite light, can you take clomid on a light period?

Yes, everyone's periods are different

I didn't take it in the end, I decided not to and to wait until I have a full period as I have never had one that light (my last one was heavy and in the past they have been heavy) bit gutted really x

Hi sorry you didn't get to take it? Hopefully next into things will be a but more normal. I took clomid this cycle for my iui and I got a few hot sweats but it was the headache that did me in, I had it for about 10 days from starting it xx

I took clomid on the first day of proper bleeding so i never took it if just spotting. Just to give you some hope i was prescribed clomid after unexplained infertility and i conceived on the fourth cycle of using clomid. My little boy is nearly 4. When he was 1 we decided to try again incase it took a long time to conceive again and it only took 2 months naturally with my second son and i am currently 19 weeks prenant with dc3 after one month trying! Good luck and i hope it works out for you.
