Do you think christmas Eve will be to early for me as im not due until 28th (well that going by a 16 day L phase from OV days)?
 
You will be 12dpo and lotsa ladies get their BFPs by then, its up to you really, go with what you want to do and what you feel xxx :-)
 
Congrats mouse, I am feeling positive now! I will start my monitor on 6/1/12 so fingers crossed!!!
 
I just received my CBFM today and plan to start using it tomorrow (great day to start eh!!) as I will be on day 3 of my cycle. Just a couple of questions for you CBFMers - want to clarify a few things:

I need to set it as day 3 of my cycle, right (not day 2?)
And I won't be asked to start testing until day 6?
Do I need to turn it on every day so it counts the days for me?
And finally, I sometimes need to wee a couple of times in the night (sorry if tmi), so if I wee at say 1.30am and then again at 5am, will that be enough time for the hormones to collect in my urine?

Sorry about all these questions!! Just want to try and get it right! Am very excited about it and starting it on Xmas - day feels like a good Omen :)

I'm sure you're all out enjoying yourselves:dancing:, but if you happen to get this, would really like to know by tomorrow morning what day to set it for, as am a little confused by this....

Hi! Using mobile so will try and answer all your questions but my phone is a pain!
If u was on your period on Fri morn then yes count that day as cd1 so Christmas will be day3 but if u didnt start AF until say Fri afternoon then cd1 would of been Sat morn.

Yes on first month using it will ask u to start testing from day6 but this might chance from 2nd month depending on your cycle lengh.

No u dnt need to turn it on every day after it stops asking u for test but good practice to do it.

If u wee in night u can use pot and test in your testing window in morning.

Also when u set monitor in morning make sure u do it in the middle of your 6 hour testing slot, so if u want to test between 6am and 12 set monitor at 9am

Hi all - I've already posted on the main forum about having a freak out but reading this thread again has helped me calm down a bit,so thank you... :) Basically I'm expecting to ov any day and am having spotting, EWCM and ov pains, but opk's are showing -ive and CBFM low, but as it's my first month of using CBFM, that might be normal right? Perhaps I'm just having early ov signs and the next couple of days things will start showing opks/monitor...? That's what I'm hoping anyway - have been driving myself crazy today - think I'd have lost it completely without this forum lol!! xx :thanks:

Update - I got High Fertility today so feeling much relieved! Next month I WILL NOT STRESS SO MUCH! What we do to ourselves, eh?! xx

I really would try not to worry when its the 1st or even 2nd month using the monitor as its still trying to work your body out.....but i do understand how hard it is as i had weird ish reading on my 1st and 2nd month but FX is worked me out now! A bit confused why u have spotting....what cd are u and do u have regular cycles?x
 
Thanks Pink Butterfly. I guess it's also the -ive opks that are confusing me too, as the last 2 months I had faint pink lines before my positive opks and this month nothing... I'm confused about spotting too, but a friend has suggested it might be my body preparing to ov? I'm cd10 and my cycles are normally 23 - 27 days long, so should be ov'ing fairly soon. Christmas was quite stressful for me, so perhaps that's delayed ov? It's just so rubbish not knowing!!

Anyway, thanks for the support - it really does keep me sane :) xx

I have had a brief read through this thread as from next month we'll step up the TTC!

Currently we just BD alot around my my fertile time... We do conceive pretty easily but I have now had 3 M/c's....[got appointment with recurrent miscarriage clinic on Friday!]

I am considering investing in a CB fertilty monitor if we get a BFN again this month?

I have a few questions though

As far as I understand I'll need to test every day using FMU from CD6 and then we BD on the days I get high readings?

How soon after a high reading do you have to have sex?

Also how strict is the FMU rule? I tend to pee at least once in the night?

Hi hun!

On the first month as the macine does not know you it will ask you to test from day 6 and will carry on asking you to test until you OV, it uses batches of 10 test sticks a time so if your cycle is a long one it will use 20 sticks that month or if you are approx 28 days it will use 10 sticks.

When you get a high reading thats when the montior has detected a chemical in your body (it beings with a P but havent got book with me! LOL) this is a indication that your body is in the first signs of getting ready to OV and this can last anything between 1-6 days so when I get my high readings I bed every other day then when you get a Peak day (you will have 2 in a row) I bed on both of these days.

If you need to pee in the night that is fine, all you need to do is pee in a air tight pot and then use that wee to test with in the morning when the machine is asking for a test to be done.

How do OPK's work? Are they more simple to use?

When you get a peak reading you OV anything from 12-38 hours afer getting the reading (again not got book with me but it says something like that) so I always bed in the high days just case I get a peak reading but then miss my surge (i.e if not seeing OH that day) but saying that I do give him his orders on the days he has to come over! LOL

Yeah I do random OPK tests when the monitor is giving me high and Peak readings just to confirm that they both are saying the same thing. I done this on the first 2 months and its make me feel better and just the machine more :) Will prob still do them at the same time to be sure! LOL

I find the CBFM more simple as it does all the readings for you and also you only need to test ones a day where I think some girls on here need to use the OPK sticks 2-3 times a day as apparently you can miss your surge on them (but im not an expert on OPK so not 100%) x
