Midwife panicked me a bit when I saw her yesterday as she said bumps measuring small, it's 26cms when shoudl be over 28..anyone else had that happen? She did say it will probably be fine but they're seeing me again in 2 wks to see if it's grown at all. baby is very active but today have been having a lot of pains..I'm not going to let myself panic though, probably just strong braxton hicks. i will be so glad when this is all over and baby is born safe and sound!

My bump never grew past 26cms and dd was nearly 2 weeks late. Saying that se was born 7lb10oz I'm sure it's all fine Hun x

i went today and bump is measuring at 31cm but im 34 weeks. my midwife didnt mention anything about it though and i didnt see it until i left and looked at notes. i dont know whether he is small or whether its just cos he is so low. xxx

As far as I know they allow for 2cm smaller or larger. But I've read on here that bump measurement isn't a very reliable why of knowing how big baby will be.

Hopefully bump will be a bit bigger next time. I measured nearly 2cm bigger at each appointment till I was 36 weeks

I always measured small, to the extent where they sent me for a growth scan.
Everything was fine, and the measurements were literally dragging along the bottom line of the 'normal range' on the charts...But people always commented on how small I looked as well.

She was only 6lbs when she was born, but she was a lil bit early, and is perfectly formed, so I wouldnt worry too much :-)

mine never measures right haha 36 weeks measured 33 weeks but my LO is fine on scans

yeah, I'm not too worried, sure it will be fine. He's certainly an active little fella, and he feels pretty big to me!

Last week I measured 34 instead of 36, I questioned it and they allow 3cm supposidly before being concerned, so am not feeling too worried at the moment x

I just had the opposite! I am 30 measured at 32 weeks but she didn't seem to concerned! X

This happend to me, they told me on last scan 4 weeks ago that babys belly had shrunk, and at midwife appointment i was measuring 26 cm wen i was 29cm..i had a another scan today and baby is growing perfectly, she is the right size and fine =) midwifes do panik people alot for no reason, i wouldnt worry to much hun x

Every midwife measures differently, they allow for at least a 2 cm difference.

If you have pains, I would suggest calling your midwife and perhaps request a scan just to be on the safe side - if anything give you the confidence that your little one is ok (I am sure he/she is!)

I am 2.5 cm behind and the midwife said the same thing as hopeful. its not very accurate and they have to allow for the babies position etc. she didn't even bat an eyelid. i have a couple of extra scans and know the baby is slightly above average!!

Mine was measuring bigger at 1 point...you will probably even out soon. Even so if you don't i don't think its anything to worry about xxx
