From what I recall they didn't test formula as of course cows (who tend to be injected with all sorts of hormones, breath the air that we do, eat grass etc) are never exposed to toxins or pollutantsNot to mention the fact that formula may be exposed to contaminants and the fact that most formula is given through plastic bottles and teats. Given all that I think I will take my chances with breastmilk, as everyhting we use has toxins in it, including formula, but for me the benefits of breastmilk negate that.
hahaha I sound a tad lactivist there. sorry but I just thought that it was a bit scaremongering, the programme wasto make us aware of what chemicals we expose ourselves too.

If you compare what is in formula to what is in breastmilk then no, it isn't going to look very good. And I know that it doesn't make people who formula feed feel very good, but at the end of the day it's their decision in the majority of causes to do so and the information out there is a fact, it's not something that has been made up to make formula feeding mums feel bad. There are people who can't breastfeed for medical reasons, but fortunately it's a small number. I think that the figure quoted is something like 2% of mothers cannot feed due to medical reasons. Therefore potentially 98% of mums can breastfeed, it just takes determination and perseverence and SUPPORT. It's not fair of midwives, nurses, health visitors and doctors to make formula feeding mums feel bad if their breastfeeding attempts have failed due to lack of support. But also why should they be supportive of people choosing to formula feed from the very start when potentially this decision is going to cost the NHS money due to it being a fact that formula fed babies are usually prone to gastro problems and infections etc? I promise I'm not trying to cause an argument, just putting across a different opinion.but what the links say make formula look bad
