Beginning of labour

Hey, I'm 38+1 and since Monday been having period like cramps and since last night I've had lower backache, it feels like it burning sometimes. I never had backache in this pregnancy so this has put me on edge a bit. Last week when I went to the loo and wiped it was a bit mucusy but was clear, I had this a few times so not sure if it's my plug or not. Got a midwife appointment tomorrow so hopefully she should check.

Is this the beginning or am I just looking for signs?

Certainly sounds like your body is gearing up for labour. Not sure about your plug, mine only went with my waters breaking and they were opaque mucus sort of white in colour.

Thanks, she said it sounds like things are happening it's just a big slice of wait and see pie fort she would check my cervix but she didn't. My bp was a bit high so got to go back next week if nothing has happened but my wee was clear so if get another symptoms between then I've got to phone the hospital, and her heart was beating a bit faster but she said that can be normal as she had moved in the last 30mins. She said she was 3/5 engaged so hopefully she should be here soon
