What are the rules in tri 3? I miss my hot baths, keep having warmish baths that I really do not enjoy as much. I'm just so cold & would love a really hot bath right now!! X

Oh I didn't realise there were rules....I still have hot baths! I know in tri 1 they say it's best not to as it will raise your core temperature which can then be too hot for baby but as far as I was aware it was safe in tri 3. I hope so anyway!! x

I've kept my bath temps the same x

Wss ^^
I love a hot bath - tepid water is just not acceptable!

I don't think it's an issue I had hot baths every night for weeks before having My LO and I'm doing the same now! The only rule I know of is that once your waters break you cannot put anything like bath foam or essential oils in the water!

Oh ok thanks girls, excellent news! I was googling it (I know I shouldn't!) and they just confused me!! X

My midwife at parentcraft class last week said we shouldn't be having baths that made our skin go red or that made you sweat as it raises babies heart beat. I'm happy I've found a happy medium not roasting hot that I need to ease myself into but not tepid crappy water either!!

There was someone who posted in tri 3 a few weeks ago about her aunt?? Having a still born that they reckon was caused by a bath that was too hot.

The general rule is that if it makes you sweat it's too hot. Your LO has no way of cooling it's self down if your core temp rises, and it can be dangerous even in late pregnancy.

I have baths that are hot enough for me to relax in (can't stand tepid baths) but not so hot that I can't get in straight away. If I'm in any doubt at all I make sure bump is sticking out and staying more cool than me, and if I feel myself getting hot I sit up and cool down. TBH anything hotter than I was getting in tri 1 is a godsend, but I definitely don't have them as hot as I did pre-pregnancy xx

My husbands aunts friend had this happen to her and they said it was the bath being way to hot. It's the first thing she warned me about when we announced I was pregnant. I'm a showers girl anyway so didn't affect me but still xxxxx

I didn't hear about this either and kept my baths the same ( i like them quite hot) Everything turned out fine for me and LO.

I'm always a bit careful with this one, it's a personal thing, warm but not too hot is a good idea just incase , its a tricky one to prove either way I guess . They told me to only have showers with my upcoming ivf , (thats different I know), I only have a attached hose thing!! So i'm having bum burning baths now to keep me going for a few months

I have kept my baths the same and used common sense :)

If I get too hot and I start to sweat I get out straight away, if I am sweating baby will sweat ane be too hot, I also only lay on my back with my bump above water, if I feel the water is too hot I put in cold to bring the temp down.

I did start using the bath thermometer that came free with baby's bath set but it was just too cold when at the right temp.

All of the scans and such like we have had indicate that baby is fine and he has been moving around nicely afterwards, maybe he is a hot baby like his mama :) xxx
