August 2017 babies!

Hey clairedoll, I've used babyscanning which is on Ingram Street, just across the road from GoMA in the city. If you Google babyscanning Glasgow then you'll find them. They are really good and super cost effective. At 16 weeks they usually give you a little 4D preview too so you can judge whether you might want to have that scan at about 30 weeks - I did with my first but didn't bother with my second as i didn't really think she ended up looking anything like her 4D scan! X

Happy new year everyone Sorry I haven't been on over the Christmas period so I've just caught up I haven't been very well due to morning sickness but I'm pleased everyone else seems to be having it also as it must be a positive sign that little bean is all alright in there For my private scan it was £100 that was because they are the only company that offers them so early. From 7 weeks other companies around Sunderland after 16 weeks are from £59 to £89 or more depending on scan you want etc. Just wondering has anyone had anyone cravings yet? Mine are Bernard Matthew s turkey ham none other, ready salted crisps and really cold water

Lol I have a craving for mushy peas! (Didn't really like em before) heh.
I had some severe cramping that woke me (hence 2am post lol) it was so bad I thought i was gonna thorw up. It felt like I was miscarrying, but no? No blood and cramping went in less 5 mins from starting.
Any ideas what this was? In my experiences if i had pain like that, usually would bleed straight away. I am preparing for mc at some point now though. Gonna try give epu a call and ask for a scan x

Elsepeth, you are not far from me at all. I live in medway :)
Early scans here are around £100 and I don't drive, so very limited to where I could go. We decided though, not to have one and just wait for the 12 week one.
I am 6+5 today going by lmp and so far still only have the sickness feeling. Normally by this time, I was literally bringing my guts out. Maybe it's a girl this time, as the last ones were all boys
If it stays like this, I for once cam live with it.
I do wear the travel bands every day though.

Hope everyone got well into the new year. Mine was very quiet and I cheered into the new year with a cup of tea haha very in style ;)
Plus I got a lovely lay in yesterday, as my mum and dad kept my DS for new years eve.
I am going away to Birmingham in April for 5 days, which was booked before I knew I was pregnant and I can't take my little one with me so he'll be staying with my parents in that time. Now we are training him to sleep there. Will be strange but will also give me a chance to spend some quality time with my older boy :)

How many children has everyone got or is it your first?

PeanutButter, it could be growing/stretching pain, or hormonal related cramp? There is a lot going on in there now a little bean is growing, an overload of functions intensively building the perfect environment for a little human to grow! How far along are you now? I am 8w5d today (or 9w1d according to last early scan measurement) and I have had period type pains/pressure/cramps on-off since 4weeks!

How are you now sweetheart? xx

I have had this in the night; I was told that sharp pains is normally gut related e.g. wind and that period type cramps that stay for the duration of the pain was the uterus. Could just be caught at a weird angle and to stand up or at least sit up until the pain went. I have had it oncebadly and once a little milder which was only a minute or so. I,like you, was thinking the worst at the time but it was weeks ago now, and I am fine (scan since to show heart beat).

This is my first.

When I was in pain I went to the loo for a no 2 xD having twinges all day.
Managed to get into a private scan place early this morning, she said I only look about 5+3/4, saw the sac and yolk ans a very very tiny fetus she said everything looks fine. Have another scan on the 11th to see if theres anything heartbeat x

Peanut butter, that's good news. At least there is something. It should put your mind at ease a bit.
The stretching pain is totally normal though.
Having previous mc myself, I know exactly how you feel. Any little bit of pain sets you in a frantic panic.
My OH and I DTD'D yesterday and I was so scared that I find blood afterwards. Sorry for tmi, but it's always happend so I never really try to DTD in the first 12 weeks. I blamed that on the mc's I had. Midwife always said that's not connected and all it mightve done is speed the mc up but it would've happend anyway.
I try to feel very positive this time but like yourself, any little pain I am straight on panic mode
Just try and take it easy and think positive.
We are all here :) speaking for everyone haha

Vampysgirl, that's great we are in the same area. :)

That sounds like really good news Pb, it's going to be hard waiting for the next scan date though I can imagine. Any more nausea?

Vampysgirl, I'm the same. I had my miscarriage at 11 weeks the day after we dtd. Had a small amount of spotting in the morning which I didn't even worry about and put down as one of those things and then woke up in the night with labour type contractions. :( Neither me or DH feel comfortable doing it. Feel sorry for him after all his efforts to make the baby though.
I know sex didn't cause the miscarriage and it just started the inevitable but I haven't been able to get over the fear yet.

Hi, not really sure how to use this forum, Im due 26th Augst, found out on chrismas day n I think im bout 6 wks 3 days xx

Congratulations bumblebee! Best Christmas present ever!
Just click on the thread that you wish to read and write in if you wish to. You'll get used to it quickly!

Glad that your scan was positive Peanutbutter. I bet you can't wait until the 11th! Best wishes and stay strong xx

Seems that everyone is doing well, apart from morning sickness! I'm 5 weeks 4 days so bracing myself in case the nausea starts later this week! Time will tell I suppose...! My only real craving so far has been marmite. Marmite on toast for breakfast every day and twiglets when that hasn't given me my 'fix' for the day! :p

Back to work tomorrow... eeeek. Anyone else back already or going back tomorrow? I'm dreading it in many ways! Haha

I went to get mine and the nurse turned me away! The midwife was not happy when I told her.

I am Devastated. I made an amazing chicken casserole... And then realized chicken is not for me right now. It happened with Athena too but later on. So gutted, I eat chicken all the time :(. Anyone else had any aversion s?

My nausea was back today yes. I didn't eat, then hubby called scan place they said come now, so I was nearly throwing up in the car (I normally get car sick anyway). The hubby took me out for a meal, I couldn't eat it! I felt so sick and bloated, and incredibly tired, we got home & I slept for 3 hours on the sofa! When I woke up felt really sick, and it's been off and on the rest of the day lol.

I'm also the sane with sex, hubby isn't too keen on the idea anyway. But it's a big no when I'm preg lol xx
