Hi ladies,

Well I went for my scan. They found the pregnancy sac and the yolk sac but there was no sign of a baby yet. The midwife said that she thinks as I could be earlier on than I think as my cycles range from 28-34 days and that this month would've just been longer. I thought I was 6 weeks today but what she saw is no where near that. Iv got a sick awful feeling that what iv got is all im getting. Don't feel good about it at all.

Do you know when you O'd hun? How many weeks did she think you were at?

Hi I'm a newbie on here too. I am approx 5 +4 days and this week seems to be going slow!
I just want the 12 week mark to hurry up and come, anyone else feeling the same?
My pregnancy symptoms so far are really achey breasts especially at night & I am soooooo tired all the time.
Also after I eat my belly goes very bloated.

I got positive ovulation tests from mon 15th till thur 18th july. She couldn't have estimated how far gone I was cos there was nothing to measure.

I know how you feel, exact same thing happened to me when I went for private scan on Tuesday! I 'thought' i was 6w+2d, there was the amniotic sac and yolk and embryo present but no fetal pole. my cycles are 26-29 days so Im not massively irregular, and I'm pretty sure i know when i ov'd as I tested!
Going by the CB digi tests i did i prob am a few days earlier, but she put my gestational age as 4w5d!!! which isn't even feasible!! and she put measurements down...made no sense to me and kept on telling me to come back in 7-10 days, she did not reassure me at all! was not really impressed.

was this a private scan or NHS? Its worrying but I am trying to keep postive, nothing else i can do, I dont think i would get re-scanned on the nhs. I bet when you go back next monday baby will be there

well i have read that generally the fetus/heartbeat dont show until week 6, as you are dead on there is every liklihood you are a few days earlier than you thought, esp with a irregular cycle.

just because you cant see it, doesn't mean it isn't there! (my mantra i keep repeating) x

Aw Lynne it's very possible that you're just earlier on than you think... Try not to stress and hopefully the time til your next scan will go quickly so you know what's going on.
This happened to my friend and it turned out she was just a week earlier than she thought she was xxx

Aww Lynne try not to worry, it's good that they saw the sac and yolk sac. Even being a couple of days out makes a huge difference at this stage!
The fetal pole grows at a rate of about 1mm a day starting at the 6th week of gestational age. So a fetal pole measuring 1mm would mean a gestational age of 6+1 etc. So not seeing a fetal pole just yet could mean you're 5+4 or similar. Even though you tracked with opk's, you can still be a good few days out due to the time the fertilised egg takes to implant etc.
I'm sure you'll see your baby at the next scan xxx

Thanks ladies. I feel a little better now and hubby went online and found examples of 5 to 6 weeks scans and what we saw today is about right.
