April 2020 Mums

So precious @Layney <3 I feel for you taking that many tablets but glad they're on to it and helping xx

I’m 37w5 days and yesterday I had a couple of bracton hicks which instead of being painless (which they all have been until now) they were accompanied by a back ache and period pain like pressure and then it happened again this morning. I know these aren’t regular so it’s not labour just yet, but could these be a sign that labour could be on the way or is this normal for Braxton Hicks?

I've been having pains on and off for a while, it can be the way baby is lying or a sign that things are starting but it can still take a while unfortunately.

I'm 39+3 today. Been feeling majorly emotional all day. Had my last growth scan and everything looking ok. Getting a sweep tomorrow morning x

hope your sweep goes well. I think I lost a bit of my mucus plug today, found some clear jelly in my knickers this afternoon, so maybe I won’t go late as I originally thought.

Still no real signs here! Had some fairly painful contractions/braxton hicks that lasted for about an hour, got excited that maybe things were starting, went and had a poo and haven’t had any since!!!

hopefully they were just a warm up and the real things start soon!

It's my due date today here but I doubt my baby is ready to make his appearance into the world yet, still not engaged and hasn't dropped at all, still sitting the wrong way too.

I spoke to my midwife and she said doesnt want to do a sweep until week 2 of being overdue and we are trying to avoid being induced unless medically needed. I'm pretty over it all now, mynlegs are constantly swollen and my hips ache like crazy, but on the upside my mum has finally arrived to stay with me and I coulsnt be happier to have her support with everything going on it thr world right now <3

I'm 39+5 today. Had a sweep yesterday but my bishops score was only 4 and I've not felt anything much so don't think its worked. My induction has been booked for 25/4/2020 but I'm so hoping I don't get to that point. I'd be 41 weeks then, my daughter came at 40+6. I'm doing everything I can to get it going before then. Hope everyone else is well x

what Is a bishops score?

hoping baby arrives sooner than the induction, get bouncing on your ball and eating the spicy food!

38 weeks today so still a few weeks to go for me x

Lots of tightenings again this evening nothing long lasting or regular. I have the midwife tomorrow so hoping she can do a sweep or will examine me at least. Last time baby was back to back and not engaged at all but she said third babies often don’t engage until labour starts which I hadn’t heard before

I hope it means things are progressing! And fingers crossed baby turns before coming out! Im trying to get mine to turn but its almost like hes climbing up saying no way am I going down there to come out haha.
Anybody got any good tips on bringing on labour? I cant go walking as its torrential rain outside with severe weather warnings in place, and I have no spicy food in my house :/

Thanks! I believe the bishops score is basically how your cervix is looking and how likely you are to go into labour at that moment x

keep moving as much as you can, also fill yourself with oxytocin (the love hormone) as that is what progresses labour. Sometimes it can be as simple as getting out and looking at babies things, imagining you are holding them and a bit of nipple stimulation x

It's my due date today and I've been awake since around 3:30am having back and stomach pains on and off. They don't last long and are very irregular but do keep coming back. I'm so hopeful this might be the start!

I hope this is the start for you @Rainbow1234.

I’ve also been getting period like pains in my back an abdomen, increased a bit yesterday but still not regular or anything.

Thank you! Hopefully it's the start for you too. I remember labour with my daughter starting with back pains but I was able to sleep through them normally and they lasted days. This time I've woken with every one and kind of dozed in between, I really don't know whether to think its labour or not. I guess we'll need to see how today progresses! X

I really hope it is for you as I know you don’t want to be induced. Can’t believe we will both be holding our babies soon! It feels like two minutes since we got our bfps.

No signs of anything from me yet, I also feel as though there been a decrease of fetal movement so keeping an eye of things and will contact my midwife tomorrow I think, I'm just getting this weird feeling in my gut like things feel too calm? Hopefully nothing though
