Hi Girlies, had a little catch up yesterday, glad to read there’s a lot of wriggly beans

Back from Newcastle and feel like the whole of Newcastle now knows I’m pregnant the oh step sister (the bride) guessed straight away - pretty obvious when I was drinking water all day at a Geordie wedding felt pretty good when I was up there but that’s because my diet was pretty beige. Back home now and getting up is still such a struggle - is anyone else really having to force themselves to get up? Sicky feeling is back

Is anyone really showing now or got a little bump? In the morning I barely show but if I eat or drink anything my whole middle area pops right out.x

It’s really hard to stop people from guessing isn’t it IVW, if I’ve had to go anywhere social I’ve been drinking lime and soda and saying it’s vodka lime and soda! Think I’ve got away with it so far

I’m finding I’m more tired of an afternoon and early evening, sickness has been bad tho, I’m retching all day as if I need to be sick but not bringing anything up and I’ve just gone off so much food, last few days I’ve been living off those little dairylea lunchable things with the ham cheese and crackers. Not showing at all yet I don’t think but I am getting bloated a lot,

How was it telling the grandparents were they really excited?

I really don’t like drinking fizzy drinks, unless they are laced with vodka so I stick with water, so I’m not helping myself really

The grandparents were excited, esp his mum - there was a lot going on with other families so it probably didn’t sink in straight away.

So we couldn’t wait and have booked a scan for this evening - nervous is an understatement! She said it would be an internal scan - is that right? I obviously don’t mind, but just thought it would be a normal scan?x

Thread hopping to say it depends how many weeks you are. I had an external scan at 8 weeks pregnant and saw everything just fine so it’s worth going with a full bladder just in case. If not an internal scan isn’t bad at all. We’ve nicknamed it the dildo cam

I’m happy with the no full bladder situation, my bladder is terrible at holding anything!

I am excited, but also sick with nerves, for obvious reasons - but I don’t have any reason to be worried particularly, I have had no bleed or spotting and have nausea most days - so I’m looking at that as a good sign, it’s just the not knowing, so this will at least put both our minds at rest. Will update after the scan.

Nightowl - did you end up buying anything in the end or have you held off?

No I didn’t buy anything, I’m holding off until 12 week scan, nobody knows yet either apart from OH obviously and my 2 best friends so I can’t wait to surprise everyone with my news

It’s on 1st Oct, so 4 weeks today, it still feels like ages away, I’ll be 12 weeks exactly,yeah I can’t wait to buy little cute baby clothes and my mum will be going mad with her knitting needles ha ha she makes little bonnets with fur on them and all kinds of elaborate stuff which looks like it should be on ‘my big fat gypsy baby’ or something she’s been dying to knit something for me for years now! I was so tempted to send her my scan pic yesterday!

Don’t know what on earth my OH cooked for his lunch today but the smell hit me like a ton of bricks when I got home and made me instantly spew. Then I felt fine again. My sense of smell is so good these days, it’s actually a curse. I can smell every bad thing amplified by 100. Also next door’s ******* dogs have been barking non stop for the past 2 days, they’re driving me mad! Luckily next door is a holiday cottage so hopefully they’ll be buggering off soon. As you can tell my mood isn’t so great today! Xx

I’ve been in a bad mood today too jomo! ate some grapes this morning which made me violently spew this afternoon and been feeling vomity this evening too

Any ladies who have done this before does the nausea and mood swings go away in the second trimester? Please say it does

The weeks are going by so slowly atm! Says me moaning to the oh how the years are flying by and there’s us lot struggling with a few weeks

Omg your mum is going to love it knitted baby clothes are so cute. I can almost guarantee ians nan dusted off her knitted sticks (they probably have an actual name lol) as soon as we left after telling her the news.

The scan was amazing and there was a good strong heartbeat we are on cloud 9 and the oh was relieved there was just one in there his dads a twin, so there was a slight chance.

So we’re back from our private scan and it was amazing - we could literally see the heart beating really hard and fast best £60 we’ve ever spent.

I thought I was 8+5, but I’m 7+6.

So my due date will be 16th April now.

Hey guys. Just been catching up on all the chat! Congrats on your scan IVW! So exciting! I have my booking in appointment today, I think I’m 7+5, and a private scan booked for Sunday so an exciting week!! Nerve wracking though. How is everyone feeling? I’ve had the odd bout of nausea but really can’t complain too much! Was sick at the smell of clean, wet laundry the other day.... that’s a strange one! Lol x
