*** April 2018 Mummies ***

Welcome Rach and Kerryjo!

Meg, I downloaded that Sprout app today. Do you know whether it's free? A message flashed up that I have 14 days of free trail remaining or something like that. I hope it doesn't start charging me a lot after that period of time... the app looks great though!

I'm not sure - I thought it was but the same message flashed up for me, not sure if that's just for a premium version or you have to pay that for the basic. I just love the graphics and sounds! Quite lovely just sitting watching it xx

Hi Rach & Kerryjo!! I'll add you both to the front page now - Kerryjo, what do you think your due date is so I can add you :)

Kerryjo I will be high risk purely because DS was delivered by category 1 emergency caesarean so I will be under consultant care. I'm not sure when I will be seeing the consultant but I will be sure to ask at my booking appointment :)

How are we all anyway ladies? I haven't been on here in what feels like forever! I've been at work and various appointments. DS had his 2yr health visitor appointment today and did really well. He did everything she asked him to do and did it really well! Super proud of him :)

Bless him! You must be very proud!

Aoparentl, kerryjo, im high risk because im 42...no other reason.not sure what this will mean in the weeks ahead. They may offer me extra check ups for BP etc??

Might need to keep going back to the list on frint page as ive lost track of everyone!

X

I'm back from a lovely relaxing week away. Just what we needed.
Welcome to all the newbies too congratulations.
Xx

Welcome home Loula. How are you?? Has the spotting eased at all? X

Melly, my mum told me that when she had my sister she was 36 and the term her midwife used for my mum was 'geriatric mother'! The cheek of it! She said had a close eye kept on her because she was older. Not sure what that means nowadays though as that was 21 years ago!

Welcome home Loula! Hope you had a nice time :) x

It's very on and off very unpredictable. Will mention it Saturday as that's all I can do. Lovely time. I'm just hungry and stuck on the m25 x

Urggh! Hate traffic! Hope you home something nice for dinner!

Cossie....your poor mum at 36! Blimey that must make me a dinosaur!

I know Melly, but like I said that was 21 years ago now so sooo much has changed since then. For starters they can't use terms like geriatric! I really wouldn't have said 42 was old for having a baby anyway, so I'd ignore anyone who says otherwise if I were you Hun :) :hugs:

Had kfc yummy and half a crushem although I realised half way through I shouldn't off because of the pasteurized or non pasteurized risk there could be

Hi everyone, hope ur day has went well

Glad to see your home loula and had a relaxing time

I've had a stressful day as I have New York booked for January (baby was a very welcomed surprise) and was on trying to get a name change so my dad could go with my mum instead as I will be 28weeks then. KLM won't do a name change at all so I have no choice but to go or both me and mum lose our money :(. I no it's a long way of but so worried about being that far from home at that stage of pregnancy x

Youll be able to get a doctors certificate and coukd always talk through concerns with your midwife. Look into travel ins too. Would be ashame to lose your money X

I know it's not quite the same but i went Ibiza when I was last pregnant, you should get travel insurance that will cover cancellation if you weren't able to go for any reason 👍🏼 I did just that and I very nearly couldn't go, because of flying at 28 weeks you have to obtain a fit to fly note from your gp, I went a week before to get the fit to fly note and had slightly raised bp and protein in my wee, had to go back 8hrs before my flight so that she could re test, no protein and only slightly raised bp and likely due to the worry about not going so she gave me the all clear 👍🏼 But knowing I had insurance to cover me if I couldn't go made it easier 👍🏼 And just a heads up Gps can and likely will charge between £10 & £30 for the fit to fly note 👎🏼 And does your flight company allow flying after 28 weeks? A lot don't 🙁 I flew out the day before 28 weeks so flying back made me 29 weeks I contacted easy jet and they told me I would only be able to return home if I had it in writing that my GP was aware and happy for me to fly at 29 weeks and my GP wrote it in the letter for me so easy her allowed it (I also made sure I loaded with easy jet via email so I had it all in writing incase I ended up with a jobs worth who said I could t fly at 29 weeks no matter what 👍🏼)

Now at the airport this side I got no privileges (not that I expected them) but from Ibiza flying back home mt self and my partner got pulled from out group to be driven to our flight and first on so I could sit down 👍🏼Was lovely of them 👍🏼 Also a heads up they didn't even look at my Drs note 😂All that hassle I went to and the extra cost and it wasn't even opened 😂🙈 (typical right)

And lastly just another heads up, take slippers (loose fitting slippers) my feet swelled so much on route home from Ibiza I honestly thought they were going to burst I had to walk bare foot because my loose fitting flip flops wouldn't even remontly slide anywhere on my foot, not even a tad, maybe even get some of those stocking you can get at the hospital in hopes they will stop the swelling 👍🏼 And most importantly enjoy every second as it'll be a much deserved break ☺️ Think of all the baby bits you can buy out there 😍❤️❤️

I don't know exact due date yet I estimate it to be around April 24th but because I don't have regular periods my midwife is saying the 10th 🙈 But I'm still sure on the 24th because of the clear blue digital results 👍🏼

Thanks kerryjo for the info. I am just wary as it is a lot of travelling and walking. Altho I'm only 27i suffer from osteoarthritis in my lower back and had a back brace when pregnant with my dd due to the weight increase. It worries me how I will cope sitting on a plane for 7 hours but I should be fine. Ur right tho the shopping for baby and dd will be incredible x

I'm up more at night peeing than because of my teething 11mth old....
