Hi girls sorry I never updated you all
the clinic wrote a letter its been moved until the 26th on a wed
although I cant find my clinic letter its all bagged away ill have to check the time
I am excited although annoyed I had to wait even longer its making this month seem impossible
snowbee how did yours go ? What did they do at first appt?

Hi honeybear, that is so annoying when they change dates on you.
Ours went ok, had to wait ages to go in and it was well after our appointment time when we were seen which was annoying as we hadn't told (work and we work with family so awkward) what we were doing and then got it in the neck for being late back.
We had to fill in a load of questionnaires about all sorts, lifestyle and health to child abuse questions. Then they discussed the scans I had already had and said I needed another more detailed one so booked that in. Also got sent for more blood tests as they had no record of the one I had in November so had some blood taken there and then. I also have to book in for a hsg and more blood tests. My husband hasn't done a sperm analysis yet so they discussed that and booked him in to do that too. Men get off lightly don't they!
I'm sad it has come to this, like you I think we were both in a bit of a state of denial and it hasn't really sunk in yet.
The lady was lovely and explained lots of things, we also had a student sitting in with us and he was also great. She said after this next lot of tests we will be looking at another appointment probably in June/July.

Aw snowbee .how annoying you had to wait !!!
What type of questions ? Do they judge you.for smoking etc ? And what you mean child abuse questions.

Neither of us smoke so I don't know if they would question that further or not. They asked things like alcohol consumption, drug use, weight, amount of exercise, healthy eating, history of illnesses, stds, previous pregnancies, type of work we did, type of underwear my oh wears, questions about our sex life, any genetic disorders in either family, any operations we have had, tests so far etc. The abuse questions included things like had we ever been prosecuted, had social services been involved with any children etc. It was quite a comprehensive list of stuff!

Hi honeybear
At our appt we got lots of questions from the fertility nurse regarding lifestyle, how often you (get together,) etc. we had had 21 day bloods and SA done so she ran through those results with us. At the end of the appt we booked another one to c the consultant which was about 6-8weeks later. At this appt he went through a scan I had had for fibroids ages ago and just said scan fine no fibroids so next stage for me was a hycosy scan. Because I had had some spotting in between periods he organised more 21day scan bloods. These showed no ov so the nurse gave me clomid for 2 months until my hycosy which is now only weeks away on the 9th April! He said if I am not pregnant 3 months after scan ( makes u more fertile from irritating linning so makes implantation easier) then we will start IVF straight away! So all in all from our 1st appt it has been fairly quick, you do have to have been trying 2 years before IVF but by the time I have had scan etc it will be 2 years so then IVF!

Hi ladies thankyou so much for all the replies on first apps questions and tips
I could quit smoking and have so far done really well this week and only had 3
and have quit completely before my o.h however is not likely too he cant even go half a day without one
so this is really disappointing on its own
I hope we can even have one or two tests done basic before they turn us away
cant believe im sat here talking about assisted fertility in our twenties its crazy.
Af got me again today our appointment is wed so at least I would have finished I hope by then
