Yes it's not Jesus actual words but the entire bible is written by men, inspired by God. But if that particular church only goes by the parts in the bible Jesus said then that's up to them.

I was only pointing out that the fact that what you said about me saying that Jesus didn't say anything about homosexuality not being true, was in fact itself not true. Yes they followed the New Testament and it is written in Romans about homosexuality but they followed Jesus' word closer than anything else and that's why I was surprised by their views as it's never mentioned specifically by Him.

The problem with Leviticus especially is that people tend to grasp at the homosexuality bits mentioned but disregard pretty much everything else. In my opinion either you should follow everything or nothing, there shouldn't be picking and choosing and therein lies the problem I'm having currently with Christianity.

I find the old testemant particularly difficult to grasp for that reason Helen. I take some comfort in the fact that there's probably a lot of Chinese whispers going on, so different translations/interpretations etc can provide a lot of variety. So at some point you have to choose which interpretation etc to go with. X

To be honest, there are lots of bits in the bible that have been picked up on, ignored etc.

Just as it was written by men (inspired by god if you believe that) so it is also translated by men, interpreted by men. There are many many different interpretations. People live by some parts but not by others.
