And then there were 2 :)

Ahh right ok hun thanks for the info! They have said we can claim housing benefit while he is on sick and he has also put a claim in for income support, no idea how long these claims will take, probably a lot longer than we need them to be, basically got £60 to last us 4 weeks...we need the money sharpish :(

xx

Welcome to the crap world of benefits lol and waiting don't we know it. You will have to get a crisis loan hun x they can't denie you x

Hello lovely
what a shitty week you guys have had! I agree with ck that the sick is the way to go with Jamie's stupid work and if you can get work related anxiety and depression on the sick note all the better because if hes forced to quit that will help any claims by you guys of unfair dismissal and help things with the DSS - sounds like all the messing about with his wages has just made life so much harder. I feel for you, have two children and a husband who isn't well enough to help you with new baby and money worries its hard.

I cant believe that you will be forced back to work with such a young baby. I wouldn't at all feel embarrassed about letting the state take care of you when you guys are struggling.Like you say you've paid your taxes and well paid work is impossible to find.

Cant belive your council are so keen on dog poo patrols, my lot don't give a shit if the council tenant druggies deal to teenagers and steal our gates to take to the scrap dealer let alone give a monkeys about dog poo.
Just tell them that its your religion to worship dogs and you revere thier holy poo as a relic and gift and that they are repressing your right to worship in your own home. when they come make sure you have a list of the thing they need to fix and questions about thier support of your local sure start.

I love your tales of lexi the hungry girl and her loving more solid food, and the poops! bring it on. If it works then do it theres no rule that says that you shouldn't.

Try not to let it get to you and get as much sleep as you can. I'm broke to, as works dried up for the winter but just made a giant bread and butter pudding with my hennies eggs and some stale bread, it was fab and cost around 10p to make. terrible for the waistline but perfect for fixing pillow eyelids. well the pillows are still there but now i don't care because im full and sleepy:)

take care of you
x daisy

Yes, if anything all this worry with money etc has made Jamies anxiety and depression a hell of a lot worser!
Well paid work is impossible nower days, but tbh, if you do find one you get penalised with less benefits/top ups anyway so you may as well work in a bog standard job and get top ups from it! Its a bloody stupid system of you ask me!

As for the council...this is a first for patrolling gardens, its never ever happened before, i think its bloody stupid personally, wouldnt mind if i was allowing my dog to foul the streets or local park, but in my own garden
You made me lauh with worshipping the poo though Daisy  do you think it would wash haha! Said to OH, when they come around again next week, if there does happen to be a turd or 2 out there and they come knoicking on the door i'll tell em its impossible to pick poo up in the dark so if they are that bothered they can errect a street light right outside my back yard  see what the flids say to that!

I'm trying not to let things get to me by pushing them to the back of my mind for the time being, but come next week when we havent got a penny, i think thast when all the stress and worry will come pouring back! As CK says they cant deny us a crisis loan and thats what we may have to go with to helo us through!

Btw, the bread and butter pudding sounds delish, indulge hun, i wish i had something sweet to scoff  how are your hens doing anyway?

xx

So proud of the Lex-meister! divulged her in chocolate pudding at 7pm last night and because she loved it so much she ate the job lot! She fell asleep roughly around 9:30pm, i went up with her at around 11pm and she woke for her first feed at 1:10am, straight back down nicely and woke next at 4am then 6:10am and is currently still snoozing in her cot, ive brought the baby monitor down as i thought seen as though OH is at home theres no rush to get her up and dressed for the school run as he has been having her while i take Elise to school :)

Usually i'd be happy its Friday today, Friday usually signals the end of the working week for jamie, end of the school runs for a couple of days and some wine and a take away for the adults tonight, but seen as though we have jack all dosh its just gonna be an average night in front of the telly box, just like every other night :( i will make up for it when we are sorted for money, but xmas is gonna have to come first!

Still going out next Saturday, i cant let my girlies down, they are all so excited...i'm lending a little off dad to go with and my friends have said they will get me some drinks in, so at least i have something to look forward to, and it will be interesting to say the least to see how Jamie copes with both the girls  he's getting the hang of knowing what Lexi wants etc lately so i'm sure he will do just fine :)

Lexi spent lots of time awake yesterday, deffo a sign that she had a good sleep that night. downside was when she was napping it was for an hour or less! After tea her sleep was very restless, she was getting whiney because she was so tired, crying and rubbing her eyes and for once, she wouldnt take a bottle to settle her, she fell asleep on her own accord around 8ish, was very fidgety in her sleep but nether the less she was asleep! I took us up to bed at 10:30pm, she woke at 12 on the dot, then 1:10am, 4:10am and 4:20am and lastly 5:20am which is when we needed to get up as were dog sitting at mums today and shes just arrived this moment so i had better skidaddle!

xx

Poor you with not much sleep. How are you coping after three months of it? I'd be grumpyand tearful.
Happy dog sitting hope you get a nap or two in.
x Daisy

i'm hit and miss tbh Daisy, the first month was the hardest, i did have a lot of tearful moments as i just wanted sleep and obv going into labour early hours wednesday morning and not having her until thursday night i didnt have any sleep and couldnt catch up on that sleep afterwards as i had my baby :( now, i have good and bad days, some nights i feel ok and cope well with waking often, some nights i could just sit and cry as i just dont wanna get outta bed and just want sleep! So needless to say i'm looking forward to when she finally sleeps through althoughg that could be months yet lol! shes so worth it though :)

xx

Dog sitting was boring as hell yesterday, Lexi slept most of the day, i was glad to get home at 5pm! i thought with all the sleep missus had that she wouldnt sleep come night time, she was quite whingy in the evening, not sure wether its tooth related though as i was looking in her mouth the other day and theres a white dot at the back where her back teeth would be and i'm pretty sure its a tooth coming through but she wont keep her mouth open long enough for me to check! Anyway, she fell to sleep around 8:40pm and was absolutely sparko'd. we went up tp bed at 9:50 as i was shattered from getting up at 5:20am! She woke for her first feed at 10:45pm so had had a good 2 hours sleep before needing feeding! She then woke at 2am, 4:15am, 6:15am and finally 7:30am when we got up so i dont think she did too badly, at least it werent hourly

Shes getting weighed again tomorrow, the hv is coming out to the house, gonna query her putting her onto stage 2 though as thinking about it it dont seem right, she did say to skip hungry baby milk and put her straight onto stage 2 but silly me did some googling and it says not to put babies under 6 months onto it  i'll be so angry if shes told me wrong!

xx

What milk have you put her on hun you should have tried the Hungary baby not follow on milk meant for 6 months onwards hun could be why she isn't going as long as that stuff is thinner as their main thing is food from then on as Leo was on Hungary baby milk which is called stage 2 by the way stage 3 is follow on milk then toddler milk is stage 4. I put Leo on the follow on at nearly six months as Hungary milk was leaving. Him full and he wasn't eating much x

I would not worry about what google or the HV says but trust your instincts on what Lexi needs/wants. There's a thread in alternative parenting on baby led weaning did you have a rummage in there.

and heres to longer sleeps for everyone! Happy sunday. x Daisy

stage 2 on sma is follow on milk, when the hv said to put her onto stage 2 i replied "is that the hungry baby formula" and she said "no skip that go straight onto stage 2" someones wrote in another thread though that stage 2 follow on is harder to digest whcih in turn lowers the amount of milk feeds they take iykwim, god knows, checking with the hv tomorrow anyways xx

no i havent see the thread hun, i'll have a gander, i've always been a bit weary of blw though mainly because of a choking episode we had with Elise when she was a baby, she went blue and couldnt breath, it was the scariest moment of my life! Glad OH was there at the time as he got it out!

And yes, fingers crossed for longer sleeps  happy sunday to you too xx

Basically hun you should have her on blue tin sma milk not red tin as that is meant for later on once weaning x

yeah, i know thats what the red tin is for, never questioned it seen as though the hv advised it, its only since people on here have questioned it its put doubts in my mind whether the hv knows nothing or whether actually this is procedure for some strange reason, i'll find out tomorrow anyway, its the same hv coming out anyway xx

Wow Lexi did amazingly sleep wise last night! And so she should as she didnt sleep very much yesterday...i think shes been under the weather, she was very whingy yesterday and felt clammy, then come the evening (and was a good hour after her last feed) she was sick but it was quite watery and was choking on it as she had been asleep, so i sat her up, ten minutes later projectiled all over me and again was really whingy! When i gave her her last feed of the night downstairs she took about an oz and then started screaming :( so i gave her some calpol and she fell asleep on the sofa around 8:50pm. Againm i was knackered so had another early one, took us up to bed at 9:30pm. OH came to bed at nearly 1am and i realised missus hadnt woke for a feed yet, she finally woke at 1:40am so had gone a good 5 hours between feeds, she next woke at 4:50am and lastly at 6am to which i didnt mind as my alarm was due to go off half hour later anyways...so yay to Lexi for having a bloody good night :yay: in fact shes asleep now, i fed her and usually would bring her down with me but ive left her to sleep and brought the monitor down with me, no rush to get her dressed seen as though OH's at home!

Lexi gets weighed today too :D going to see about this bloody formula and see if she was talking b****ks or if she was right! Gonna make out i havent started her on ot yet because then she cant try and shift the blame onto me seen as though its the same hv i have today that told me to change her onto follow on milk! And if she tells me something different i'll wonder wether making a complaint might be the best way to go! Dunno..we'll see when shes been out!

My friends are also true beauts! The night we arranged a few week back, really thought i would have to cancel, i was gutted, was really looking forward to going out with the girls, letting my hair down etc, but thanks to my lovely friends they are taking me out bless em, i do feel a bit tight letting em do it but they did insist and i'll just have to repay the favour at some point of they ever get stuck, or at least buy em a few drinks next time were out!

OH is also seeing if he can get a crisis loan today, really hope we can as we have enough food for this week and can just cover the rent this week, after that we really do have nothing! Its funny as i'm friends with my ex from when i was 15 on fb and he's offered to help us out, but i can acccept, its just too weird lol!

xx

Ooooh also forgot to mention...last night after i had bathed Lexi and got her jim jams on i laid her on her tummy in her cot while i potted around her bedroom having a quick tidy up, looked into her cot to check on her and she had tried to roll over but got caught on the side of the cot so couldnt do the full roll :wall: so i put her back on her tummy and moved her more to the right hand side to give her more space but she got miffed off so it was a no go!
Popped her on her tummy this morning...and shes only gone and bloody done it! Finally rolled :yay: she gave the biggest smile ever as if to say "wow look what i did" she looked so proud of herself  gonna try again later, see if it was a one off fluke  hope not, shes been on the verge of rolling for the past week, rocking side to side etc, its about time she got the hang of it bless!

xx

Yay for rolling hun x really am worried hun about this milk situation that health visitor should be shot. I would get her on the blue milk as soon as that will defiantly help with her feeling full x

Wow honey that is a good night! Well do be lexi!!!

Hope you manage to get some help with money. Such a worry for you.

As for the formula, I had a look when I was shopping yesterday and sma seems to be the only formula where stage 2 milk isn't hungry baby. All the others stage 2 is hungry baby and stage 3 is follow on. It's confusing isn't it!! My health visitor mentioned putting Meri on stage 2 to slow down her weight gain and I have no idea which one she was talking about! Meri was on SMA but switched her to Hipp Organic as she was really constipated. I'm gonna ignore the hv though cos she usually goes 4 hours between feeds, she's just a greedy chops! Ha ha.

Hello lovely
sounds like you've turned a corner, Glad that you all got a bit more sleep last night - after being projectile vomited on !!Hope that Lexi just had a little bug, and brilliant that your night out is back on , what lovely friends.
onwards and upwards
x Daisy

Thanks ladies, well the hv has just been, i made out that Lexi was still on sma stage 1 and that she was still feeding little and often so asked which formula she had said to put her on if water wasnt helping...and guess what shes saying now...not stage 2....not hungry baby, but comfort milk :eh: but then said not to swap her as after doing her weight and length she was evening out and i in her words "was doing everything right!" wtf! So i'm popping her back onto stage 1 unless anyone thinks hungry baby would be better, she said feeding little and often means she is still taking the same as a baby that takes 7oz every 4 hours and not to worry!

Anyway, her weight is now 17lb 9oz  she was 14lb 7oz at the end of August! And shes gone from 55cm in length to 61cm so looks like shes finally getting in proportion!
She said she is teething and that little white dot is her back tooth and thats probably why she was sick last night! Basically everything was good and my little moo is growing perfectly...no fat baby hahaha!!

Bit pissed off that she told me to skip hungry baby and go straight onto stage 2 when i saw her last but yet now shes telling me not to swap her...i mean seriously, do these people not make notes on what they have said, talk about confusing, but at least the stage 2 has done her no harm thank God!

xx
