Hi everyone, was hoping for some advice.

I came off the pill last month as my husband and I wanted to try for a baby. After a little research I found that the chances of conceiving straight away were slim as it takes time for your body to return to normal and start ovulating again.

I had a withdrawal bleed on 3rd July which lasted a couple of days (all to be expected), and then I started feeling a bit funny. Very sore boobs, nipples have changed colour, a bit dizzy and sick etc. Anyway i figured this was all part of coming off the pill.

Anyway, God knows why, I ended up buying a First Response pregnancy testing kit yesterday. Now my period shouldn't be due for another week, so I knew it wouldn't show anything even if I was pregnant (even though my chances were slim), but ...... there was a very faint line! I called my husband on his way home from work and he dropped in to the chemist and bought a clear blue digital pack with 2 tests. Took them both, came up positive!!!!

Sorry for the essay but I just wanted some advice on whether I'm getting my hopes up too soon! My period isn't even due for another week (31st July) and I've heard that some pregnancies just don't take.

Any thoughts or advice would be very welcome!

Hi sweet!! Welcome and congrats!!! It's very rare to get afalse negative! So it's def a positive!! Get taking your folic acid and do another test next week. But by the sounds of things you have your bambino!! Some eople are different after coming off the pill. They cam get caught straight away or it could take longer?
I stopped taking it on may and got caught straight away but sadly miscarried at 8 weeks.
We are hopeful for next time. At least we both know we work!!!

Thank you both for the advice. I shall get taking that Folic Acid. Very excited! Xxxxx
