Alcohol Free Beer

Good evening Ladies,

I am just wondering if non-alcoholic alcohol is safe to consume as a one off during pregnancy? Not sure what the weather has been like near you this week but its been lovely here and when sat in the garden enjoying the sun i decided i fancied a beer. I obviously knew that an alcoholic one was off the cards so i went for a walk to the shop and got myself some of the alcohol free Heineken which has 0.05% alcohol in it. I understand that it has a tiny amount of alcohol in it and im not the sort of person who would drink a few of them every night and it was just a one off really but somebody at work has told me i really shouldnt have any alcohol free beer as that is just as harmful to baby as alcoholic beer?

Any clarification would be massively appreciated as im really worrying now because i had 2 of the beers!

There’s no point worrying about it now, and such a small amount is unlikely to do any damage. But perhaps don’t drink any more x

I used to have alcohol free Becks and Kopparberg which used to hit the spot x

Also just to add, the website specialises mainly in non alcoholic which means <0.5% which is suitable for pregnant women.
0.05% is counted as alcohol free so don&#8217;t worry about it xxx

Also, to add, as I understand it they tens to say 'not more than 0.05%' since they can't guarantee all traces are removed. Likely abv is truly less

And finally, to show how little alcohol this is: To drink the equivalent of one bottle of a standard 4%abv, you'd have to drink 80 =4/0.05) of the 0.05% abv beers. One or two on an evening is not going to harm you. Just hydrate and satisfy you on a hot day
