Age gaps and ttc?

Hi as anyone got older children?
I have a 9 year old so if i manage to concieve soonish there will be atleast 10 years between them.
All hes wanted for years is a brother or sister but its never been the right time and now im tryibg abd struggling i feel like im letting him down aswell as myself

You're not letting anyone down, all you can do is try your best and stay positive. I don't have any children but there's a ten year gap between my brother and me and we got on much better than siblings closer in age. you've been able to give your son all the love and attention and now he's older he'll be more mature about sharing your time and hopefully he will be attentive with a baby brother or sister to look after. So true I have a brother who is 9 years younger than me and we got on much better growing up. On the other hand my 4.5 years younger sister was a nightmare. We fought soooo much crazy times lol my brother was more like my son. I would help him go to toilet, protect him etc so age makes a difference but all good experiences. I prefer the way I was like with my brother no jealousy because of the age gap.

My son is 10, so there will be 10 and a half years between him and his sibling when they come along. I was worried about the age gap at first but I think it will be fine - he is really excited to be having a brother or a sister

Hi, I got a 18 years old girl and a 9 years old boy (it is a loooooooooong story) and they will have a massive age difference between, but I still thinking if the baby will arrive will be so loved and cuddled

I have a 12 year old son and a 5 year old son! Hardly any arguing! Unlike me and my brother who were 1.5years apart, we did nothing but fight lol

I’m the oldest of 6 (oldest 32 - youngest 17). To be honest, I get on equally with all but 1 of my siblings now but when growing up I loved having 2 siblings over 10 years younger than me.
I don’t think I got on better with them but I played a bigger part in taking care of them, which was nice.

My brother is 9 years younger than me. Mom had miscarriages so it took a while but we are the best of friends! Sure, we had our fights and we both kind of grew up lonely, but now, as adults we are as thick as thieves.

I have older step children... my stepson is 13 and my stepdaughter is 15.

My stepson is autistic, so he’s not bothered in the slightest about if we have children or not... my stepdaughter however went through a stage at about 10-12 where she’d pester us constantly for a sister, but at the time I’d just been made redundant so wasn’t in a position to try... her little face was awful

Hey I have a 13.5 year old, nearly 6 year old and ttc baby no.3

I would of ideally liked them a little closer, but it just didn’t work out like that.

The boys have their moments but generally get along.
My 6 year old is desperate for a baby and thinks you can buy them in the shops. He gets upset everyday thinking we’re just not going to buy him one lol

We’re trying our hardest!!!

So if we did fall then there could well be a 14/15 year difference.

Second bro, there is exactly a year and a day between him and I - yes, my mum is crazy.

I followed, then my sister two years later and i love the close gap.

We used to go out clubbing together, was great.

But you adjust to what you are dealt with, i honestly dont think it would matter if the gaps were bigger, we are close siblings regardless.

I still call my sister, my baby sister and shes the one whos pregnant

Age and years is just time and numbers.

There us 14 years between me and my sister my sister is 43 past April and I'm 29 in October we didn't get on very well when I was growing up but we get on really well now we go to slimming world together every week

Hi. I have a 16 year old son (tomorrow!), 12.5 year old daughter, 7.5 year old daughter and a 6 year old step daughter. So my minimum age gap will be at least 8 years between my youngest daughter and if we conceive this time. I do worry that if we conceive a baby this time it will feel like an only child, but everyone is so desperate for another sibling, I know it would be loved to bits by everyone. Xx

I have a 15 year old and a 5 year old... And they fight like cat and dog! Haha. When my youngest was first born my eldest doted on him. But now he's a teenager the hormones are taking over and everything irrates him.

If I manage to conceive again soon then they'll be an almost 6 year gap between my youngest and the baby
