Looking forward to obem

Gonna call this baby Zanussi cos my tummy feels like a washing machine tonight

Lol I like it! Lol sounds very ... Apt though lol this little one was breakdancing last night too x

Wow Lacey, great bump!

I'm going to have to make my first call to the midwife today.
Had the most horrible pain in my right side, more towards my back than my tummy, on and off since 8pm last night.
It comes on out of nowhere, reeeeally hurts for about an hour or so then fades away again. Was awake half the night with it and ended up in tears in the spare bed coz I kept tossing and turning and didn't want to wake my boyfriend.
According to Doctor Google (shame on me, I know) it could be kidney stones. Kind of hope it is as it makes it less of a worry in a way, nothing directly pregnancy related.
Not hurting right now but will ring the midwife once it starts again, I'll find it easier to describe the pain when it's actually there.
Ugh, I was doing so well too, no illness or anything!

Ooo Crawkay sounds horrible - hope everything is OK for you. I've had my first bout of what I think is really bad round ligament pain this morning - nothing compared to what you have described though. As I stood up to get off the train this morning I got a really sharp stabbing pain in my lower abdomen. It was really painful to walk out of the train station. Fortunately I then got a shuttle bus to work, but It's still uncomfortable now.

We played music to baby last night by putting headphones on my bump - it was an album we have called classical music for babies - he either loved it or hated it, because I could really feel him moving around. I also felt my first real kick from him. I have a high anterior placenta, so only feel him moving if he's low down. DH tried to feel him move, but he missed the big kick and the other movements weren't strong enough to be felt on the outside. But hopefully soon. We're going to keep playing music to him for half an hour or so each night when we're relaxing on the sofa. We did it with DS and he was a very calm baby. If you play the same music each night then once the baby is born playing the music again can help calm them if they are having trouble settling.

Rang the midwife as pain started again literally as I posted.
She asked if I was bleeding (no) and if baby was active (yes) and said from what I'm describing it sounds like like a urine or kidney infection.
Take paracetamol and get a docs appointment. Good to know it's not a major concerny but bloody hell, it reeeally hurts!!!

Aw, classical music for babies, how cute.x

Hopefully you get sorted crawkay :)
Came down early hours to youtube playing to itself I nearly died funny thing is it was all about loosing plug, home birth ect OH says I must of been sleep walking lol I know I wasn't

Thanks Angela.
Doctors were so helpful, the receptionist sorted me with an appointment straight away as she said it wasn't sensible to wait too long when pregnant. Doctor tested urine and had a good prod of my tummy and back and said there were no obvious signs of infection and it's most likely just muscular.
Paracetamol, hot water bottle and warm baths were advised. I bought a hot water bottle and it's worked wonders. Still not 100% pain free but such a difference. This kid is going to get a telling off when it arrives, causing me so much pain!

In other news...
The 6th or 7th offer down on this page is for an Avent steriliser for only £13.50.
My mum just rang to say she'd bought it for us :) Seems a great deal.

Wow, tis quiet tonight on here. Are we all out partying?
Very long week at work, so very grateful that it's the weekend. Looking forward to time with OH as we've decided to start getting stuff done before I'm too immobile to assist. Moving furniture between rooms, and such. And we're out tomorrow night, so it'll be nice to spend some time with friends.

Glad you got seen Crawkay. Hope you're feeling better soon.

I'm starting to get restless legs in the evenings, but the thing I'm finding most strange is my tummy being in off shapes. Got in the bath last night and my stomach had a corner! i know if I tell mum that she'll just say 'oh you haven't seen anything yet' and I know it'll be far more bizarre later, but this is what I have now.

Wow, you are right it really is quiet here tonight! I'm just back from having a nice curry out with friends while dh was baby sitting. Main topic of conversation was still houses and babies!

Glad you saw Dr today Crawkay and are getting some relief. I'm still getting a bit of discomfort, but as mine is at the front I'm reluctant to use a hot water bottle or anything like that. Are you using it more for your back or did Dr say it was OK to use on your tummy?

I know what you mean about restless legs Loretta, they really annoy me, dh and I will be snuggled up is sofa on a night and my legs will just randomly twitch!

Hey ladies
Hope you're all well
Anyone else up at this time?
My little one is running a fever has been for nearly two days now had him at doctors today he has tonsillitis:(
Daddy just gone to lie in his room on the floor
Makes me so sad and upset because he wants me but i can't lie on the floor anymore :(
Feeling useless I can't help my baby :( x

I'm up with the worlds worst cold.

OH got it while he was over here too, he's just been to the docs, and the result is a double ear infection, sinus infection, and respitory infection.
He's all, "man, British colds don't mess around, huh...".

So he's dosed up on codine syrup, and inhalers and goodness knows what, and I'm sat here sipping honey-green-tea.

Oh well.

Crawkey, I'm glad you got sorted out so quickly. I hope it eases off for you completely.

Laura, that really sucks :( I absolutely HATE when DS is sick. Especially when he turns on the "mummy, make it stop" eyes... Urgh. Poor lil thing. Fingers crossed he gets over it quick.

Hopefully everyone else is getting good sleeps. Xx

OOH! I know what you mean about tummy having a corner... It's weird, huh.
Wait till they start turning when they're a bit bigger... Looks like something out of an alien film with a the lumps and rolls :)

22 weeks today! xx

Just me wide awake now lol

Happy 22 weeks too :)

Sorry that your unwell really hope you start to feel better soon and get some rest and you oh recovers quick too

Hope all you ladies are well

Best try and get another bit of sleep its going to be a long day! X

Morning everyone.

Lacey and Laura I was up at that time, dealing with a sick patient...my cat. Decided to start randomly throwing up at 3 this morning!! Grrr!! Fell straight back to sleep after I sorted her out!!

OH and I had a lovely date night last night. We went out to a local tapas restaurant (been meaning to try it for the 4 years we've been here!!! Finally got around to it!!) it was amazing food, service, atmosphere and everything!! We had a lovely time. Was nice to just focus on each other. Had such a lovely evening!! Discussed where were gonna go on holiday in April-we think we've settled on Greece! I'll be 26 weeks when we go,so I don't think well have a problem-what do you think?? We also talked about the imminent move (due to complete next Friday now!!! Fingers crossed).

In other news I've been having growing pains in my abdomen and what I think is baby moving! Just want to feel it properly! I know everything must be ok because every morning I wake up my tummy is a different shape! Keep looking at our scan picture and thinking that this baby is actually growing inside me-it's such a strange and magical concept!! Xxx

Twink, last time around I flew out to Majorca at 26 and back at 27 weeks. Next time you see your GP just ask if they can scribble you a "fit to fly" note and you'll be fine.
You'll probably get an easier time at the airport too, as they'll load you on and make sure you get a good seat.

What sort of holiday are you going for? Sight-see or relax-by-pool...?
I'm sure it'll be lovely either way :)

I hope your kitty's better now. Poor fur-baby :(

Laura, how's your LO this morning?

I'm well on the way to finishing my cot tidy :) got all the pockets in place and sewn across the bottom, now just need to sew up the sides and fold the whole thing over and sew the back together :) xx

Aww poor I out twinkle hope your cat is better today

hope your feeling well lacey
My LO is much better this morning thanks he hasn't had a temperature since 3am so fingers crossed its passing

I'm just sat doing my work from home soooooo tired but if I get this done now I can have a early night tonight
Hopefully..... X

Morning you beauties :) hope your all okay. Whats everyone weight gain like????? Im really worried im putting on too much. Ive started averaging out at 2lb a week now :( so after 21weeks ive put on 1st2lb. :( i only wanted to put on 1.5st max :( xxxxx

I haven't weighed myself tbh Claire :) too scared of the outcome lol. I'm not sure what the average is!

Hope you ladies with the lack of sleep are feeling ok today, fingers crossed you all have a better night tonight!

I'm feeling really down in the dumps today :( It sounds really stupid, but I picked my cat up earlier and he jumped out of my arms, obviously landed perfectly well being a cat and no harm was done. But my hubby turned round and said 'hope you don't do that with the baby' which really upset me, and he then went on to say 'you do worry me sometimes'. It's made me feel rubbish. I all of a sudden feel like he thinks I'm going to be a bad mum, it's not helped with the fact that his parents asked if he though I was going to be a proactive mum? And his mum suggested I 'do a bit more walking'.

Sorry to have a hormonal ramble, I just feel really crap now! X

Poor kaylip :(

No wonder you feel crap, rotten buggers. You'll be a great mum, don't you worry xx

Sorry to hear so many are feeling rough, either through illness or thoughtless comments.
I'm just home having made up with OH. Managed to have a shouting match in the car over something completely trivial, so we both sulked for a while. The alone-time probably did us some good mentally as we've been in each other's pockets and both had rough weeks at work. I took myself off to do some shopping and we had a big hug and apology when I got back, so that's cool.
Sorry to hear about the fur ball being ill overnight, Twinkle. Ours are being really affectionate, which is lovely, but if they wake me again at 3am asking for food, I'll probably boot them down the stairs. Probably not the tactic I'll use for the baby.
Speaking of whom, Zanussi is having a field day. Well, a field-few-days. Suddenly gone from a couple of kicks at a time to step aerobics for an hour at a time. Even OH was asking if that much movement was normal.
Right, time to do something practical and get some of the crap sorted that needs to be streamlined.
Rest well, my friends
x
