_>•~*X*~July 2015 Mummies-to-be!!!~*X*~•<_

Thanks for the info, Laura. I actually had an appointment with my specialist (for another condition) on Monday, who's in touch with my gynaecologist, and I mentioned it then. I don't see the midwife until 3 feb, so will keep an eye on it in the meantime and perhaps get it checked if it doesn't go down with good moisturising.

Had my scan today. Everything was perfect. Baby wasn't playing and wouldn't stop wriggling around. The sonographer was getting huffy!! Haha. She seemed quite impressed that it was moving around so much!! Can't believe how much it has grown in 3 weeks. We've got some amazing pictures and I was so happy earlier. Although I've just been to the toilet and I'm bleeding, but it's more like really mildly bloody discharge than actual blood! Could this be from the pressure she was putting on trying to get baby to move!

OH bought me some Shea butter oil from the body shop and it's so great and smells amazing. We rub it into my tummy and sides every night! I've got stretch marks on my boobs and stretch marks on my legs from when I went through puberty!! Ao I reckon I will get them badly!!xx

Great to hear all's well, Twinkle.
The bleed could be from the scan, or unrelated. Hopefully it'll ease off and ease your mind into the bargain. Have a great night's rest to help it x

Well had my consultant appointment today, all fine, she talked through birth options with me and doesn't think I'll need a c section, which is good news, but she doesn't want me to give birth in the pool like I did last time, she wants medics to be able to intervene with an episiotomy if needed, so I don't tear again. She said I can use a pool, but would need to get out before giving birth. Got to see her again at 36 weeks to review. So now that is out of the way we have started telling people. We haven't had the downs results back yet, but nt measurement was low and they should have phoned by now if I was high risk, so we think we're OK. I'm struggling to hide this bump too, so now I can wear something a bit more comfy for work tomorrow!

Finally docs gave in and gave me anti sickness tabs -hopefully ill be right as rain soon :) xxxx

Glad your scan went well, Twinkle, but sorry to hear about the bleed. Hopefully it's nothing at all to worry about. Hopefully it will go away soon! x

Toni, I can no longer hide my bump either. It's still mostly bloat but it's there constantly. I've had 3 comments already this week, 2 today. One said 'wow, you're really showing, aren't you?' and then when I left the room (a friend repeated this to me) another colleague said loudly to everyone else 'is Katie expecting a baby or did she just put on a lot of weight over Christmas?' How rude is that?!:lol: Luckily it's the former but can you imagine if it was just a bit of extra weight?!

Claire, I really hope those anti-sickness tablets help, fingers crossed they will!

xx

Bio Oil 200 ml - £19.99 in Boots, £12.49 in Bodycare! What a difference.x

Can't find it now :(

I read a beautiful thing about a little girl asking her mum what the marks on her tummy were, and mum replies "they're my tiger stripes, I got them when I had you. Maybe one day you'll have tiger stripes of your very own".
Apparently the little girl spent the next hour crawling round the house being a tiger.

So cute :)

Anyone heard the thing about rubbing oil on yourself (or maybe ask OH...) to help prevent tears at birth?
I had evening primrose oil capsules last time, and to their credit, I only got a small graze. No tearing at all. Xx

When I did hypnobirthing last time, they recommended perineal massage to help prevent tearing. This was something I just couldn't get my head around doing. I couldn't reach myself because of the bump and really didn't want DH to do it either. However, I did get a 3rd degree tear, so maybe should have listened. Will definitely think about it this time round and will look into EPO.

The EPO I'd recommend.

Can be taken orally, or when you go to bed at night you can pop one up to dissolve overnight (although it can leak a bit so may want a pad, or just an old pair of knickers).

I don't know if I would have torn without it, or if I'm just lucky. Either way I'll be taking it again this time. Xx

I think I move into here today :) downs risk came back 1 in 33159 so I'm happy :)

1 in 33159?

What a random number...

But, a good one, and that's what counts :) congrats hon xx

I'm still waiting on my downs results had to have bloods done rather than on scan as baby wouldn't turn
Should be in next 7 days hopefully

I am so major tempted to book a private scan to find out the sex but it's only 4 weeks and a bit till scan so see if I can wait : ) x

Afternoon Ladies,

How are we all today?

I don't have my 2nd trimester bloods booked in until the 20th as they said I needed to be as close to 15 weeks as possible, so it'll be Feb before I get my results (hopefully)!

I'm feeling massive today - when I look down I look like i'm about 6 months but when I look in the mirror I don't look that big :eh:! I'm sure it's just bloat but normally it's worse at night but today it seems to be all day!

I don't know about you all but I can't stop looking at our scan picture and it feeling very surreal that, that little person is inside me! I keep having moments of freaking out about becoming a mum and them moments of giddy excitement! Is it just me?

xx

I feel huge today aswell!!! Think it may be a little bloat and a little bump as its hard hard hard!!! Xxx

I feel big today too. I guess that's why a few colleagues have felt like they could comment!

Does anyone know how long it usually takes for the NT screening results to come back? xx
